CONAPIDIL Greenboxin - Rapid Skin Soothing, Heat Reduction, Cooling & Soothing Gel
I didn’t find this gel to be cooling whatsoever. It left my skin feeling sticky and tacky. Didn’t soak in well at all.Didn’t find it soothing or cooling at all.

Cooling and soothing
Greenboxin's claims of an immediate cooling and soothing effect are well deserved, as my skin did feel noticeably cooler and soothed upon application. However, that feeling is quite short lived, and does leave the skin feeling tacky (much like an application of aloe gel would). I tend to have redness in my cheeks, which comes and goes, and am always looking for solutions for lessening the redness. I can't say that Greenboxin did anything for my red cheeks (they were just red, not swollen or having a reaction to anything), but it definitely feels soothing and moisturizing, and I adored the cooling feeling. I subtracted a star from this product, as, in my mind, it is incredibly expensive for something that provides such short term relief.

Greenboxin Hydrates. Did Not Address Heat in My Face or Resultant Flushing.
This product, Greenboxin, comes in a plastic bottle that looks much like a container one might find in a cosmetic-dermatology office. It is subtitled: Gel Type Skin Solution, but there is no more info on the bottle about what this skin solution’s function is. The claims I address are from the Amazon ad. There are none made for it made on the bottle which includes a list of ingredients written in Korean and in English. It is distributed by Pharmesthetic, manufactured by a company, Conapidil—both in South Korea. Websites for both are given, but both are exclusively in Korean text. The contact address, in case one had any questions or concerns, is in Seoul, South Korea. That site, via Jeanficial.Inc, has an English translation feature. I did not find any info in English on any of these sites about his product. As a test of the claim that this product gives immediate heat relief, I applied it to my hot, red face after an hour of fence-painting on a warm summer day. I have the sort of rosacea that makes my skin heat up and makes my face flush for at least an hour in response to exercise. I might apply an ice roller to my face to lower the heat, so I feel okay about being in public, but today I tried this product, instead. The advertising says it “…instantly removes the cause of heat-exposed skin and lowers skin temperature.” This claim is a bit hard to comprehend since the cause of the overheated skin was the outdoor ambient temperature, my physical exertion, and pale Celtic skin. I needed the relief the product promised. I did not measure the surface temperature of my skin, before or after, but my perception of heat and the visual evidence of redness were the same as always (without the use of ice). My face was, as usual, red and hot for over an hour. Greenboxin did not work for me on this occasion of heat, flushing, and redness. The second claim is that this product rapidly calms and sooths irritated skin. My red skin from flushing might be considered irritated skin, but not counting this incident, I don’t have experience with especially rough or broken-out skin. Therefore, I can’t attest to how well or rapidly it works for a rash or a flare up of acne. I does feel good, as some gels tends to, when applied; it is immediately soothing while it dries. One of the first ingredients listed is niacinamide, known for its ability to calm irritated skin. I would not be surprised if this product does help calm irritated skin based on this ingredient, alone. The third claim is that this gel provides deep hydration. I actually think that it does hydrate and that as the gel dries it forms a kind of barrier that holds moisture to the face. The ingredients list begins with glycerin, known for doing just this—creating a barrier. There are many botanicals, as well, among the ingredients which likely contribute to this moisturizing quality. The fourth claim made for this product is that it enhances skin resilience by restoring and strengthening the skin’s natural elasticity. Having used this product nightly and occasionally during the days for a bit more than a week, there has likely not been time for my skin to become “more resilient.” I would like to know how skin resilience and elasticity are measured and what to look for to observe these enhanced qualities, as well as which ingredients make these things possible. I wish that the product description said more about this claim—about all of them, actually.Continuing to use this gel daily, I will look for more opportunities to use it when my face is hot, but I don’t hold high hopes for its efficacy at reducing heat based on my experience. I do, however, like it as a moisturizing toner, though. I have done a general search of many of the botanical ingredients and their properties; Greenboxin contains many plant-based ingredients to which my sensitive skin does not react badly. I like that this product-as glycerin-based products tend to do- leaves a kind of sheen on my face that might be mistaken for a “glow.” Not knowing how it will make my skin more elastic or resilient, I will wait and see about this final claim in the Amazon ad. This gel is priced at about $53 for 5.07 oz. Because I ordered it to address heat--and therefore the flushing that results-- and because it does not do anything for the heat problem, I will probably not purchase Greenboxin in the future.
