This heat deflector works exactly as advertised. It turns the entire surface of the WGA grill into an indirect cooking area. It provides the benefit of slower grilling, with no flare-ups, and great charcoal flavor. Also great for pork roasts, tri-tips, and whole chickens !

This is exactly what I was looking for. It works perfect in deflecting heat away. I am able to put the meat directly over where there are coals with the deflector and I am able to maintain low temps for smoking and long cooks. Works great ! I can now use the whole grilling surface to smoke meats. I recommend wrapping foil over for easy clean up.

This item was advertised as stainless steel, but it is not. After moving it out of my WGA, I noticed the ends bent real easy. Stainless would not do this, so I put a magnet on it and it would not stick to it indicating this is cheap aluminum. It is too late to return it, but would have never purchased this if it was accurately listed as aluminum.

This deflector is way too thin and flimsy, the metal warps and bends after one use.

After I saw this product on Amazon I dug out my 15 year old Weber go anywhere charcoal grill I experimented last night with a small rack of baby back ribs They came out great as I was able keep the temperature between 275 and 305 degrees I used my Igrll to monitor the temperature and made adjustments regularly Will definitely use this grill and heat diffuser for my next vacation

This concept is great, love it. Problem is the metal fully annealed the second time it got used. This should be made out of stainless steel, then it would get 5 stars, no question. This would make it perfect, please produce this in stainless steel.

You can use the Weber Go-Anywhere as a smoker without this - if your willing to forgo 1/2 grilling area. Smoking doesn't work well with direct heat for a variety of reasons (flare up - temperature gradient). This deflector allows you to use the entire grill as a smoker - just add wood chunks and charcoal. I like to use a small foil pan as a water pan next to the charcoal to provide moisture. With this deflector, the drippings will fall into the pan.

In a world where others have laser-cut 3mm stainless, this does seem a bit weak, but it is just a shield and is just fine for that. It is well made and folded, and does indeed do exactly what it says, so if you want effortless indirect cooking in your Weber GA (I use it on my gas, but would work great on either. Some might argue less necessary. Highly recommended.

Deflector is made from thin alu inium but does the job well

Have had two of these and they’ve both melted. They’re thin aluminium and don’t last long. Two, three cooks and then they melt and they’re in the bin. May as well use folded tin foil Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Listing says stainless steel, but item is in fact made from aluminium.
