Anything Pokemon is guaranteed to be popular in my house.My grandchildren are a little too young for Scrabble as they don't read yet, but it occurred to me that this would be a useful tool to help them learn! Then eventually they'll be literate enough to play the game properly.Oh but it's not just one game! One side of the board has classic Scrabble squares, but the other side has Pokeball markings. It comes with two instruction booklets; one for classic Scrabble and one for a different game with a Pokemon them. There are cards for that one as well.The pieces are all plastic rather than the wood that old Scrabble games used for the letter tiles and holders, so it seems expensive for what you see in the box. But things just cost more these days.A nice cloth pouch is included for holding the letter tiles after the original package is opened. I think this will be a great continuity toy for helping my grandchildren learn reading and expanding vocabulary, and probably years of fun.

A really nice twist on the classic game. Wouls recommend it to everyone.

I got this for my nephew for his birthday, he's a big Pokemon fan and let's be honest, you can't go wrong with a game of Scrabble 😂Easy present idea, especially for Christmas.

This is a great way to get the kids interested in word games. Pokémon is obviously a classic which most kids (and some of us adults) seem to love. I initially thought this was just a Pokémon theme applied to the classic game of Scrabble but it's not! It includes a double sided board, one with the classic game and the other side with a brand new one. The Pokémon game is really good for younger kids, encouraging them to complete challenges to 'catch em all'. My nephew really enjoyed the game and we would both like to recommend it to anyone who wants to be the very best ;)

I really like this version of Scrabble. Not only is it perfect for Pokemon fans, but includes the original version of Scrabble too on the reversible board, keeping everyone happy!There are a few things that I especially like about the Pokemon variation of this game. One of the main plus points is that it’s cooperative, which I’ve found has been absolutely brilliant for getting the kids involved in a game that isn’t competitive and encourages working together. The main objective of the game is to place words down matching certain criteria (includes a specific letter, includes a vowel, has four letters, and so on) in order to complete challenges on the deck of cards and therefore ‘capture’ the Pokemon. This has been great at getting the kids to really think about the words and the options available to them, and the challenge of successfully getting another challenge card keeps them engaged. I also find this somewhat simplifies Scrabble and makes it much more accessible for younger players, who can enlist the help of a grown-up whilst playing cooperatively when they get stuck.The build of the game itself is great, with a solid and well printed board and lots of decent letter tiles. I really love that the back of the board has the original Scrabble format so you’re not limited to the Pokenmon version of the game. Everything packs away nicely too, and the game comes with a bag for the letter tiles.Overall, I’m very pleased and expect to see many more games of this in the future.

I grew up with one of the older scrabble boards that belonged to adult relatively at the time so I needed no convincing on how fun scrabble can be if you play it casually with people. This one in particular is not just one that doesn't just jam a popular thing on the front to interest kids but actually includes a pokemon version of scrabble alongside the classic via a 2 sided game board. The pokemon version in question adds the idea of 'capturing pokemon' by completing challenges on cards you can get from including a specific letter in a word or using one of a certain length and so is a good spin on the game whilst also simplifying it in a way that makes it a good introduction into the game as a whole (before introducing them to the classic style). Is pretty easy to set up and put away so is a pretty recommendable thing to have around for guests of all ages.
