Taste's great - it's a definite game changer!!!
I had never heard of a “shrub” before this. I did, however, hear about drinking one or two tablespoons a day of raw apple cider vinegar and was doing that. I put it in water along with a bunch of other stuff to try and mask the harshness of the vinegar, but was not as consistent as I wanted to be due to the bite of the vinegar. Enter this “shrub” - it is a game changer! I tried it alone at first and it was quite pleasant. I could easily take this without having to mask the flavor or quickly wash it down. And, I love the fact that it’s organic as well. I put this in my water along with my collagen, a good squeeze of lime, and a bit of honey (yes, I am aware there is sugar in this already), and sip on it for the day. It easily allows me to get the amount of water I have planned (water goals), with a lot of added benefits. My stomach feels better and it does really help. I’m doing whatever I can after that major sickness that went around the world for a couple of years - I got it really bad…long term - and need whatever I can get a hold of to get my strength back and my system right again. I really feel this is helping - like, a lot! I notice a definite difference and will be buying another bottle as soon as this gets close to running out (which means at this point, in a couple days from now). It will be a regular staple in my house for a while. Highly recommended!!

Great Way to Take Elderberry!
I ordered this Sweet's Elderberry Organic Shrub because I like the immune support associated with Elderberry.I've had Elderberry in several different forms, but never Shrub. I wasn't sure what to expect, taste-wise, but it's really good. If undiluted, there is sweetness, but the zing of the vinegar is prominent.I happen to like vinegar, so a tablespoon a day is just fine for me. My kids prefer this added to sparkling water rather than straight, and it's really good that way, too. With cold and flu season approaching, we'll be keeping this as part of our daily routine.

Taste is not for me, pretty bitter and vinegary
I am not a big fan of strong vinegar smells or tastes so maybe that is why I don't really like the taste. In terms of the ingredients, there is a elderberry, apple cider vinegar, and some ginger which are all good but not a big fan of the 5 grams of added sugar. There are 32 servings per container at 1 tablespoonful per serving, which is about a 32 day supply if taken once a day. Expiration date is 4/17/25 (ordered 6/25/24) and it needs to be refrigerated after opening. Appreciate the heavy glass bottle and USDA organic.

Tastes surprisingly great on its own. Added to water it adds color and a subtle tang.
The 16 oz glass bottle of organic shrub arrived wrapped securely (it’s really well done) in a plain cardboard box from the brand with only a white Amazon label. The bottle’s cap was sealed in plastic for safety. A handy pour spout is included. Ingredients (just five and all are organic or purified) and directions (shake well and refrigerate after opening) are on the bottle. The pour spout fits the bottle easily and made dispensing the liquid into a measuring spoon simple, but pour carefully because it still flows well. The pour spout closes so you can leave it on the bottle while it’s in the refrigerator. At first sniff the vinegar was dominant, so I decided to go slow and added just 1 tsp to about 10 ounces of cold water. There was hardly any flavor, so I added two more teaspoons to get to the recommended serving of 1 Tablespoon. With that amount of water, the pleasant flavor was still very subtle, but the shrub added a pretty black elderberry color and a subtle background tang. Of course, the amount of flavor can be controlled by changing the amount of water used. The next day I tried the shrub on its own. Again, I tried a tsp first, but it was so pleasant that I immediately measured out two more teaspoons. To my taste buds the 5g of cane sugar didn’t make this shrub taste sweet, it just pleasantly smoothed out the raw apple cider vinegar. I didn’t detect much of the fresh ginger, to me it was just a faint hint in the background. The tang from the ACV is there, but it’s not overwhelming, it’s just pleasantly tangy.Taken plain this is surprisingly tasty. Added to water this shrub is like a water enhancer but with possible health benefits from the three main organic ingredients. Marinades and cocktails are other suggestions, but I haven’t played with either of those, yet.Vegan. Non-GMO. USDA Organic. “Free from Alcohol, Gluten, Dairy, Soy. Made in a shared facility.” The bottle states the shrub should be used within one year of opening, and the bottle I received in late June 2024 was marked “Sell by 041725”. Made in NC (USA).

Great taste and a little goes a long way
Sweet's Elderberry Organic Shrub tastes amazing! The flavor is quite intense so a little goes a long way which is a good thing because at ~$25, it's a bit on the pricey side for me. But with how long this bottle will last (serving size is one tablespoon for a total of 32 servings) and the benefits it provides, I think it's worth it. I love adding this to my herbal teas or sparkling waters for a flavor punch and I also love using this in homemade salad vinaigrettes. And I can't wait to try it in mocktails for the summer. It has the apple cider vinegar tanginess but with the addition of the elderberry, ginger and sugar, it balances out quite nicely and truly makes this a drinkable vinegar. (If you've never had elderberry, the combination almost reminds me of cranberry juice with its sweet tartness.) I've been wanting to add apple cider vinegar to my diet for a while now and this blend actually makes it palatable and doable. And all of the ingredients are organic. The only thing I don't like is that it has added sugar, but it's only 5 grams so that's not a dealbreaker for me. While I might not purchase this regularly due to the price, this will be a product I'll order again.
