This pump is great for our pool! Unfortunately it stopped working about 3 weeks after hooking it to pool. I liked the pump so I preferred to exchange it over a refund. A new pump was sent out the day I asked for an exchange. Received it within days and have it up and running.

I was really surprised by this pump. When it arrived I took it out of the box and immediately thought it was going to be a nightmare to install. Once I removed the old pump from our 18×54 pool the new pump easily installed in the same exact location and was simple. The original pump that came with the pool pumped about 500 gallons per hour and the new pump filters and pumps about 1500 gallons per hour. The suction on the new pump is exceptionable it cleaned the entire pool in no time. The sheer power of the stream that comes from the outlet of the pump is quite a force. The original directions states to point the outlet side(the side that water comes out) down but I recommend turning it sideways away from the inlet (the side that sucks water in) because when its pointed down it splashes so hard it splashes water out of the pool. Also when you turn it sideways it makes a nice whirl pool effect that pulls any dirt or small debris to the center for easy cleaning. I would recommend this pump to replace any manufacturers pump of the same style for the summer waves brand of pool. It is powerful enough to get the job done in the larger pools. I at first was worried that it was a little expensive or more so than maybe I thought it should be.... But once I installed it and saw it run it was well worth the money I paid for it. Thank you summer waves and polly group for making an excellent pump so far. Update: Had the pump for a while now. It still runs great just like the day i installed it. So far no problems or issues. I highly recommend this pump and in my opinion is worth buying again. Thinking of buying another one for the future just in case.

In 2020 My teenage boys and I moved into a new rental with a larger backyard with room enough for a larger UGP. 18 foot round. 7k gallons. The pump/skimmer that came with the pool IMO was to weak. It stopped working after a few months. I'm not a pool fanatic so, I just hook them up, plug them in and enjoy. I don't use timers. I know continual use non-stop wares them out faster. 24/7. But, with chlorine, and our trusty pool sweep,(timed)built-in, it never really gets dirty all year long. We live in sunny California. And I don't have the time to clean the filter everyday, So... when I upgraded to this pump/skimmer, wow. Big difference. I'm actually buying another one because pumps don't last that long if run non-stop (except to clean) the filter once a week. It's been 3 years now with this pump, and time to get another one...Wow I'm impressed. P.S. change the shaft for the impeller asap.(5/32" thick, 3.3" long) preferred round brass rod, (won't) mess with the PH level's. Home depot has brass rod assortment with the size(5/32) in it, x 12" for $7 online only. You need to cut length to fit, but, any solid metal rod that size will work. After a day the ceramic shaft broke, just like the old pump. Now it's quieter than any pump I've ever owned. P.P.S. the metal rod/handle on a 5 gallon bucket is the exact same size, 5/32 (MacGyver) style. I hope this helps someone.

Good fit for the pool works great so far no issues.

We paid to have this product express shipped as my pool was not usable without the pump. When it arrived my husband installed it. It worked well for about 5 minutes. Then the pump stopped working. As my husband is looking it over to see what the issue might be the bottom seal broke and water drained from my pool. I immediately requested a return label and sent it back the next business day. I then reached out to the seller to inform them that I would really appreciate that the cost to expedite the pump to me be refunded and that if they would be willing to cover any part of the $130 to have my pool refilled that would be great. Well thos has been goin two weeks and today they said they are only issuing me a partial refund for the pump. No explanation, nothing. I am very upset and will make sure I never buy from them again.

I have a swim waves pool that came with the 1000 pump. I have battled a dirty pool for two years and spent tons of money on chemicals and equipment to try and clean it. After two years the original pump got water in the plug and it started shorting out. I decided to just replace it and ordered the 1500. Within an hour the fine particles I spent hours of my life trying to get out are gone. The pool is moving the water and actually pushing the debris to the pump rather than the dirt circling in the middle. I wish I had ordered this originally. Very excited for this summer and swimming in a clean pool. Even if this pump only lasts one summer it is going to save me so much time and money. So happy.

I had owned my Summerwaves pool for about 3-4 years when the pump that came with it began to become very noisy. I knew the grinding sounds it was making were a sign the end for that pump was nearing. Soon mustered algae took over my pool and my pump was no help in clearing that up. I bought this pump and omg, I had never seen my pool water move around and be cleaned like this EVER! I haven't added anything, but chlorine and my water is crystal clear! I wish I had known sooner and stopped spending so much money on pool chemicals and just bought this pump sooner!
