DAFENCHI Telescoping Sponge Stick for Pottery, 27 Inches Long Pottery Sponges, Pottery Tool for Removing Excess Water from Tall and Narrow Pottery, 3 Pack

I tried these on a pot I was throwing last night. It was passable. It was not overly absorbent and didn't hold a lot of water, so I need to be aware of this as I am throwing, and not let a lot of water accumulate. I did notice that after I rinsed and rung it a couple times it did absorb a little better after I did that. (There are no usage instructions included.) I do wish that the bigger sponge were larger than the one supplied. However, they are convenient to use. I did like that they are expandable and can reach down into a pot, without your knuckles getting into the way. I wouldn't say that the sponges are real sturdy, so once the sponge is spent I am not sure if refills are available. If not, another regular ceramics sponge be attached to the telescoping end as well. I did really like how the sponge can help smooth out the inside of the pot. I think that they could grow on me, if I know that they can last a while.

Zero absorption- don’t buy them.

Just when I thought I had every ceramics tool in the world (as well as a few that aren't technically ceramics tools but can be used for that, like pizza cutters and dental tools) I saw these. The handles make them long enough so you can really get inside a vessel even if the opening is small. They're also good for smoothing surfaces because you can twirl them and it gives an even pressure. The one issue I can't comment on yet is how long they will last. Ceramics tools have to endure a lot of handling, water, more handling, more water . . . some live through all this for a reasonable time, but if something is made too cheaply, the sponge part will just fall off the handle. After more use in the studio I will come back and note how the sturdiness is on these.

I tried to use that on ceramico pot. it didnt look not helpful. it failed many times.

I LOVE:--the set of three, telescoping sponges in various sizes for throwing tall, thin pots where you can't easily reach down inside--the reusable screw-top container to hold themI've had similar telescoping products in the past from other manufacturers which didn't last over time but that was with different products that required a harder press. I will edit this review if these don't last as long as I expect.The main design flaw is that the sponges aren't quite as absorbent as I'd like. For now I tested them out with just water as I don't have easy access to pottery wheels for the next few weeks.I don't know if these sponges are replaceable but I will probably be changing them out for other, more absorbent sponges in the near future. I may have to jerry-rig the new sponges but I still think that's do-able.
