Love the spot lock. Don’t even carry an anchor in my boat now.
The install can be a little bit tricky, as it will not fit in same mounting holes as the motor you are replacing. If you are just a little mechanically inclined you should have very little problem. I installed on a tracker 16 panfish and this motor works perfect for me. Love the heading lock and spot lock. Has worked great so far no flaws. Still learning all the controls but expect many years of use out of this trolling motor.

Once you use an i-Pilot motor, you'll never want to fish without one
This is my second i-Pilot motor, and I've never had any issues with one. I believe this model is the least expensive i-Pilot motor, and it's a great choice for a lightweight boat up to 14 feet.Mostly, having i-Pilot allows you to concentrate on fishing. Pick a heading and speed and let the boat compensate for wind and current while you fish. Recording and playing back tracks is really useful, too, whether for trolling or to follow a shoreline or depth contour while you cast. But it's worth the investment just for Spot-lock. Tap a button and the boat will hold position to within a few feet. I use while still fishing or casting a precise spot, to let the boat hold station while rigging up tackle, and while fighting fish. Pretty much the only time I use anchors is when still fishing with multiple lines, when I need to keep the boat from turning. These motors can take a beating, and I'm especially impressed with the strength of their shafts. Installation is simple as long as you have a suitable level deck plate at the bow.Deploying and stowing the motor takes a bit of effort, but once you're used to the process it's not a problem. One drawback is that mounting a transducer for a sonar on the motor is complicated, since the whole shaft turns with the motor. If you search for videos about "PowerDrive transducer installation" you'll find some solutions using a tension spring to keep the cord close to the shaft while allowing enough freedom of movement for the head to rotate without excessive strain on the cord. It's workable, but not ideal.

Game changer
This trolling motor has been amazing so far. I have it on a 16’ boat. The remote is confusing at first, but just watch a you tube video or two and you’ll have it figured out in a couple minutes. The spot lock feature is awesome and the reason I bought it, but the feature I use the most is the N button. It keeps you going in a straight path even against blustery winds so that you can focus on fishing and not steering the troller. Absolutely love it!

1100 bucks well spent imho
If your buying do research on the minn kota website to make sure you get the right model. I bought 1358744 took it out for a spin and Wow it's amazing its just like having a co pilot with you so you can focus on fishing. The turning motor is fast. The spot lock is great 👍. I would buy again. Being able to tell it to steer straight ahead is a great option. The remote is also great many features i haven't even tried yet. The remote has no problem with connection from anywhere on my 16 foot boat. The remote it self tells you what the trolling motor is doing mph, prop turning, what speed your on. I can't wait to run I track. Great tech all your focus can be on just fishing when needed.

Does the job
I’ve only had the chance to use this a few times since installing. So far it performs as promised. Only negative to speak of is there seems to be a vibration when using on power level 4. The iPilot remote is very easy to use, controls are very intuitive. As others have stated, deploying is not fantastic but it’s a minor inconvenience in my opinion.

Poor quality. Has not held up at all.
Great motor when it works, but it’s completely unreliable. Cheap electronic components. Has lasted less than 12 months with minimal hours.Junk. Save your money.

Best investment for my boat!
Although I wish I'd bought the next level up for a couple hundred more mainly due to the hassle it is to release and stow this unit compared to the unit above this one, it is still a great trolling motor, but if you can afford it spend the extra money on the unit with the easier stow and deploy features!
