Just fine.
Perfectly well-made tray at a good price. However, there is general ambiguity over dimensions for ash pans. This is for a 16" grate but measures 11" (which is what I needed) but numbers could be misunderstood.

Ash pan
Good ash pan that saves clearing out ashes from under my grate. Note that it's a trapezoidal shape (tapers at the back) but dimensions on the listing are only given as though its a rectangle. Sadly doesn't quite fit the back of my fireplace so it sticks out at the front. Would have been helpful to have the full actual dimensions to know if it would fit before receipt. Also, mine wasn't black, it's silver. Probably will eventually go black with soot I guess!

Useful Ash Pan
This Ash Pan arrived on time and the size is as stated and looks exactly as it does in the photo. It was reasonably priced and we have a very small fireplace in our new home and this pan fills up quickly and will have to be emptied regularly. We don't use the fire every night so I can't say exactly how often, so if you are looking for a deep tray that will hold a lot of ash and doesn't need emptying regularly, this may not be the one for you.

5 inches too narrow
The ashpan I received is 11" at the widest point, not 16". It sounds from other reviews as though I am not alone in this. I kept it because I needed one for a smaller fireplace too and it's been OK. It feels quite cheap and flimsy, but hasn't buckled or been damaged in any way after several uses. Not a great quality product, but for the price I would buy it again if I got the correct size.

Perfect for our fireplace....
Perfect for our fireplace.... I guess it's resilience will be measured in the test of time - however it does seem suitably sturdy.UPDATE : 2.5 years later - it is now buckled and has large hole. Perhaps this is as long a you can expect these things to last?

Just what I needed at a good price.
The ash pan is just as stated and is quite substantial. The size is just right and the cost was not mind blowing !! I had been in a local fire surround company and as they did not have one in stock I asked about ordering one. The quote was £33. This included £10 for delivery. I was so pleased I saw this one on Amazon.
