An easy hair boost
I'm a natural brunette, between a level 6-7, with a few honey highlights tossed throughout. The highlights always get too warm and brassy after about 6 weeks and because I don't want to use a good toner that would require a chemical activator (or blow $40 on such a simple service, which would only lead to more warmth & brassiness, I've been on the hunt for a good color depositing shampoo and conditioner. I've tried Aveda Black Malva shampoo/conditioner (don't care for the scent & it makes my scalp itch), Jhirmack Silver Expressions (purple shampoo) which helps but doesn't quite have the color depositing qualities I need to convert my brass back to brown, John Frieda Color Refreshing Gloss for cool brunettes which was pretty good but not quite as impressive as the Tressa Watercolors Black Coffee. One use truly helped correct the brassiness in my hair. Be mindful that depending on your natural hair level, it might darken. I deep conditioned after shampooing so I didn't have any drying issues reported by other reviewers. Recommend this to other brunettes needing a color boost and will reorder in the future.

Happy with this product.
I have tried a lot of other color-adding shampoos after starting to color my hair, but it is surprising how many a) are barely effective and b) produce skin problems. This stuff works! It does not color gray, but it dulls the gray and it completely shuts down the red that pops through. I have had no skin reactions. The cons? Well, since it is effective, it will stain caulk, fabric, etc. You have to be careful. And I do have to use just a touch of conditioner afterwards (I have short hair, so needing to use conditioner is unusual). But since my hair is no longer screaming "I am an old lady who colors her hair!" , I am MORE than happy.

Nice smell, seems to work, but couldn't accurately assess
It was promptly delivered. It smells nice, feels fine on my hair. In the short time I used it, I would say that I didn't notice any of my usual grays appearing, so I think it helped. I must confess, I couldn't give it an accurate assessment because I only used it for a couple of weeks when I was on vacation and out in the sun and swimming a couple times a day.

Love it!
I absolutely love this shampoo. I don't have much grey, and am not interested in covering it. I only wanted to enhance my natural brown hair. This product does that, but even though it's not supposed to cover the grey, it does deposit some color on the grey and just makes my hair look naturally highlighted and SO shiny! I do not need a conditioner with the Black Coffee. I've tried the Crimson Splash, Cocoa, and Mocha Drench. I was happy with the color results with these as well, but found I needed to use a conditioner with these colors. I also have the Violet Wash and use it occasionally and am planning on using this exclusively when I get more grey.

I am bummed that this product didn't work out better for me
I am bummed that this product didn't work out better for me. First, the color isn't as dark as I thought it would be. It is more of a medium brown than a dark "black coffee" color. Second, it was extremely drying! I do have very fine hair so perhaps for customers with thick hair it will not have this effect. I was aware that tinted shampoo tends to dry you out but this was extreme. My hair didn't feel like real human hair. I will also add that I cut back to only 1-2 uses per week and was using an extremely moisturizing conditioner along with it. Take it or leave it but that is my review.

An update
Did nothing to my hair at all,no covage on Greg hair!!!!! I think some of the reviews are not real people, fake reviews...well here's an update..after washing my hair 5 times yes it does work, but only a little my greys are like a light chocolate brown ,don't match the rest of my black hair,I'll use it more and see what happens I'm going to be using Hanna powder the 2 step process so I can get just dark brown hair, then maybe this shampoo will work better

Great for grey hair and coarse hair
This is the third bottle I've purchased of the Watercolors shampoo and it's the only shampoo I will use in the future. The reason is because i never coarse hair and it does a great job of Making my hair very soft. More importantly, it does an amazing job of blending my grey hair so it's not as noticeable. Keep in mind, It's not a dye so you have to use it daily as the color washes out after you rinse it out at the end of the day.

I came to the conclusion that there is no Shampoo ...
I came to the conclusion that there is no Shampoo that can do what this one claims and fails to do. So... in sum it does not work but in the other hand that is hardly a surprise.
