Caline 2 in 1 Guitar Tuner Pedal Power Supply 8 Isolated Outputs for DC 9V Guitar Effects Pedal White CP-9

Power taps are NOT isolated (CP-9 tuner/ power supply)
I'd give this 5 stars if it'd been truthfully advertised. The tuner works fine. It's chromatic, but there is no control over its display (guitar string number or note letter), nor its tuning standard (locked to 440hz). This was under $40, so I can't fault that. What I am faulting are two things:1) this does not have isolated outputs. I kind of expected it didn't given the price point, but it was advertised as such, so I took the plunge. Using a multimeter, I found all positive and negative terminals tied together. Of course this means there is no difference between the 6 100mA and 2 500mA jacks. For most users, this isn't a big deal, but if you've got an older multi pedal that puts noise onto the power bus, (I've got a zoom 708 that does this), it's a deal breaker. On the upside, it likely means that if your total draw is 1.6A or less at 9v, you should be fine plugging anything in anywhere. I did measure 9.3vDC under a modest load, so it should be good for any 9v pedals.2) The power input is 18v. No issue there, but its plug is the exact same size as a normal Boss size jack, and it's just a simple black connector, so it'd be easy to fry a pedal if you accidentally plugged the master power supply directly into a pedal other than the tuner. The good: it's cheap, it works, it seems well built.Despite there being no difference between the 100mA and 500mA jacks, I was able to power up 8 pedals, including the power hungry ones (5 'typical' Boss/DOD low power use pedals), and 1 T-rex Hobo Drive (will kill a 9v battery in a couple hours), 1 "persuader" overdrive that uses 9v to drive a 12ax7 tube (battery life an hour or two), and a dbx Drive Go processor (factory supply is 9v at 500maA), and the set up ran happily for around a half hour or so during my test. You get 8 cables that are just about the right length for a modest pedal board. they're all straight to right angle, though I'd have preferred them to be all right angles. Included is one barrel to 1/8" mono plug for use with older DOD/ MXR pedals. That was a nice touch.Switching is quiet. It's a circuit board mounted switch activated by a spring attached to the foot switch. I'm used to seeing either a 9pin mechanical switch for true bypass, or relays like line6 sometimes used, so I was surprised this will pass signal with no power supply connected.

Surprisingly high quality
Awesome power supply, I had a question about it when it was delivered and Caline responded super quick with a very thorough answer. I got better support from them than some other more well known companies. The supply is smaller than I imagined it’d be which is great for fitting it under my board, I have a travel kit with all analogue pedals that have low draws, this fits the bill so well for such a good price.I tested each outlet and found the tolerances to be 8.94-9.02 volts off of my 120v house line that reads 124v at the outlet. This showed me that the supply is correctly regulating voltage. I’m a DIY trained electrician but when looking for noise, I couldn’t get any substantial reading across crossed outputs with my multimeter and that means it’s isolated enough to pass my tests. It seems to be noiseless in operation, I’ll update this review if that changes in any circumstance as I put the supply through it’s paces. So far, for this price, I don’t think I could have got a better deal. Very pleased.

Not actually DC isolated
My main need for this product was to clear up some noise I was getting from two pedals interacting with each other. As it was claimed the outputs are isolated this should’ve been a solution, however it didn’t improve the issue barely at all. It’s a great size and neatened up my board a lot though, so I kept it and created my own DC isolator for the one pedal I was having problems with and the noise finally went away. But that cost me an extra $20 in parts.tl;dr nice compact unit with some value for protection against shorts, but not DC isolated - so if you’re looking at this to solve a noise problem it may not help at all.

It’s so tiny!
Extremely compact pedal power supply. Needed this for a custom pedal board I’m building and only needed to use a few of the spots. Not sure if the power is properly isolated but as I am running it from a trip lite clean power source I didn’t mind. I also have the CP-04 on the same board which is properly isolated. No issues with either and no excess noise from either product.Oh yeah and this thing is tiny! Could easily carry a few in one hand. If you only have a few pedals to power this is the one to get. Every Caline product I’ve purchased thus far has been of exceptional build quality and comes with an excess of extras including Velcro for mounting cut to size. Will definitely be buying more from them in the future.

Great solution
Was looking for a cheaper solution for my second pedalboard. This works great no additional noise and I have had no problems. Great solution

Works just like it should.
If this thing were built like a Boss pedal I'd give it 5 stars. Everything works great but it does feel like the quality is on par with the price. I wouldn't gig with it long term, but for home it fits the bill and I would recommend it.

Nice unit
Accurate tuner and power supply in one.Really convenient.Would like to see it in a larger unit with 12 or more power options.Or maybe a noise gate with power supply.

Nice isolated power supply for effect pedals
I needed an isolated power supply and came upon this from Caline. It met most of the criteria that I was looking for. What it was lacking was an on/off switch but I use the power button on the power bar, no big deal. The other 'isolated' power supplies didn't have the ground and used a two prong wall wart or other two prong adapter so I didn't bother with those. The other products from Voodoo Lab were a bit more in price and as much as I would have liked to have one, the dollar savings on this was enough for me to take a risk and glad I did. The difference in price was 80$.The box is nothing special, plain brown box with the company name and model. Inside was the isolated power supply, the adapter cables, one center positive adapter and the grounded power cable and the instructions. There is a DIP switch to control voltage to the outputs, it's very simple to understand if you look at the picture, move the DIP switch to one side for 9v and the other side for 12v or18v. There are five outputs, four have adjustable voltages and one is dedicated to 9v 500ma only so the switch direction wouldn't matter. The rear of the unit has the 3 prong AC cable and a red slide switch for 120v and 240v.As mentioned, there is no power on/off switch so once it's plugged in then it's powered up.I did not have time to set up the scope to see how clean the power was so I used a small digital multimeter to measure voltage output only. The output for the 9v measures at 9.06v and when I slid the DIP switch to the 12v, the output measures at 12.72v. So the rated output is as advertised.I attached my two pedals to see how it would sound, if there was buzzing or humming and there was none from the pedals with the knob at twelve o'clock. I did notice a slight hum with my electro-harmonix 'big muff pi' fuzz pedal when the knobs were at full but overall clean sounding.I would have given it five stars if it had a on/off switch but this might be a minor quirk to some. I could go on about other nonsense but in the end the pedal is good enough for me and for what I'm using it for. Overall nice product from Caline.Enjoy the pics and hopefully this will help you decide.

Good pedal
This is a nice addition to my bass rig. Tuning is accurate, no click when you stomp it, clean sound in bypass, and it neatens things up. Very handy.

Tuner and power in 1
I needed a tuner and another power supply and found this pedal. It works and and does the job.
