The people putting this together obviously thought it out.1) Little extras: my package included black zip ties that might be need to retain wires wherever you install...they didn't advertise this, they just did it. Nice.2) One side the connectors are already attached, cuz why not. The other side they weren't...because you might be cutting it to size or running it through small holes so you need that. But one side already attached means 2 less things for you to do. I like the thought put into that. They could have just sent the wire and connectors with none attached...that would have been fine. But they could do at least 2 without restricting how you could use it...so they did. Nice.3) The clean ends come partially pre-stripped, with the insulation only partly removed (still mostly on, retaining the wire strands). Why? So they aren't all frayed up during shipping or installation. They could have just not stripped it at all and figured you'd do it yourself...but again they did as much as they could for you. They thought it out. Nice.I greatly appreciate manufactures that just THINK THINGS OUT to make their product, even a simple product, as good as it can be.

Testing various solar items as I build out my system means that I need to test solar panels and solar controllers to find the best solution for me. Every solar panel has MC4 connectors, every solar controller has wires. Every solar generator has - well, who knows what. This is just nice to have. Real 10AWG wires that can handle 12-24 without issue. They come pre-cut and fit in all three solar controllers without issue. It's so nice not to have to cut and splice stuff all the time. Bonus? This set comes with an extra set of MC4 plugs if you need MC4 to MC4 later on. Smart thinking. 15 feet is a good length for most of my set ups and real world usage. I'm pleased to add this to my wiring kit and they will get used all the time. Solid product.

I was a bit surprised on these cables. they are really good quality and they are made with really nice wire. The insulation is dual layer, there is a black layer of insulation and that is surrounded by a Red or Black outer shell. The other shells is a bit stiff and is not as supple as some of my other brands, but its very abrasion resistant. The actual wire is tin coated copper which is really good. The MC4 connectors look to be standard quality ones. Overall for this price, they are a good buy.

These are well built cables that should serve for a long time. The 15-foot length is perfect to connect portable solar panels in order to be able to optimally position them in the sun. They are a bit stiff, but they are 10 gauge, so no surprise there. If you were doing a permanent install on an RV, you could custom cut these to the proper length and use the connectors provided.

The connectors are sturdy and well made. I tested their fit with another brand’s similar cable and they joined securely (see photo). The force needed to join them felt about right, giving me the sense that the rubber O-ring was doing its job. A typical plastic MC4 tool worked fine to disconnect them. The cables seem well made and flexible. I’ll be using them with a hand truck solar generator I’m building that will be fed by a ground mount solar panel array.

This is some nice heavy duty wire. I'm setting up a portable solar system right now and these will be a great addition to my wiring from the panels to the charge controller. They're just the length I need. They come with everything you need. 1 connector is installed on each wire and they supply you with the others to install where you need them. The jacket is double insulated and seems to be durable for repeated setup and tear down.

So the good points first. The cable is fairly light weight and very flexible due to the tinned, stranded wire. Depending on how the cables were tinned, my guess by the weight is there is more than just an outer coating of tin. Copper is the better conductor, and typically you only find tinned cables on ground wires, but for most solar applications having tinned copper wire is not a huge negative. The connectors are on par with other solar connectors I have experience with. They are well made and seem water resistant enough.10 AWG cable can carry 30 amps at 12 volts but with the tinning and stranded cable I'd probably stop a bit short of that myself. Generally, current ratings provide margins for safety, but no reason to push the limits of the cable. Solid core cables are generally better for carrying larger current loads as the losses are not as great as stranded cables, and the tinning on the cable won't help with that. However, at the length of these cables any line loss will be minimal. Stranded cables are also a bit more prone to having the end connectors work loose. Stranded cables will flatten and deform at the ends due to the individual stands moving around and if you plan on using these cables in an environment where you are constantly plugging them in and unplugging them, check your end connectors periodically.These are a nice balance of low weight and high flexibility, counterbalanced ty the tinning and stranded nature of the cable. For most solar applications they should serve you well.

Exactly what I needed to finish up the installation and connection of 4- 100 watt solar panels outside to a power station inside my home.I used this cable set to connect from the wall duct connectors over to the power station and needed a custom length.It was just slightly over 13', so this 15' set was perfect for that.Heavy-duty 10AWG cable has low loss on 400 watts, so I get more solar power to the unit for faster and more efficient charging.Well made, nice and heavy wires seem as if they will hold up well over time.They were excellent value compared to similar products as well.Shipped and received fast. 5- Stars!
