I beg you, please don’t put spoilers about this book. It’s all so important and everyone needs to feel all of “those moments” for themselves. For this book, Twyla deserves at least that much and it is that amazing. If you can’t speak from your heart about your smiles, ugly tears and being laid out in the floor face down gasping for air, you have missed the essence of this book. We read for many reasons, inspiration, escape and to live out Fantasies that have alluded us. Fulfillment and to feel life course through our bodies as our minds have imagined so many times in so many ways. Will I die not having tasted ambrosia? This book meant something to me and I dare say it will to many women like me with more days behind than ahead. Those still longing. It is an older woman’s deepest most vivid daydream book and nightmare. Longing and desire for one more chance to have that beautiful man to look at only you. To want you. Impossible? The words in this book are as timeless as an ancient sonnet. The atmosphere set to the most beautiful haunting Gregorian chant. A testament to self-sacrifice and going for it. Such unimaginable beauty.Why can’t we have it all? Why do we always have to feel our time has passed and we wasted years of unfulfilled desire with daydreams and nightmares. That it is inevitable we die alone and lonely.Etienne gently and lovingly cultivated and mutated Ryn just right and planted her in fertile soil. into a black rose, rare and strong.Kari was a selfish piece of ugly work for far too long. How could she, why would she after all her mother had been to her. Yet there it was. I want you to be happy, unless it gets in my way. Have a seat little girl. With your father and his wife. Then life repeats itself dramatically as only life can and a miracle is given from one angel to another.We can’t turn back time but we can dream a dream. Aging totally sucks. Writers of Ladies of Lavender and Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont pay attention to Ms Turner’s take on aging, sex and love. The ending is so very much more than a HEA. It is the sun and the moon. Thank you for giving older women a book for us, exploring our feelings, desires, and the possibilities that we can still live the fairy tale we miss, missed or never had. This is writing on another level - Standing O and salud!

** spoiler alert ** Loved it but the middle where she leaves him so he could have children was just dumb I hated it. It went on and on for chapters and then it works out because the other woman dies and he is left with one child and years go by and they finally get back together.

How do you write a review for a book that took your breath away and breathed life into your psyche? To have some many of your own experiences and regrets played out in words and on pages that strips you down to your barest essence. Thoughts you haven’t shared with anyone yet they meet you on the page and compel you to ponder all the woulda, shoulda, coulda’s of missed opportunities. This book is amazing, the female lead is me and everyone woman I know at some point in her life.What is Love? Is Love Sacrifice or is Sacrifice Love? Family dynamics that are painful and real and true friends that appear when you need them shape the hard decisions in our life. Taryn and Etienne stole my heart and the journey they travel together is inspiring, genuine and raw. As a women in my fifties married to a man ten years younger than me for over 20 years, I appreciated this story on a whole other level was thankful Twyla did not shy away from that dynamic in their relationship. I truly wished there were more stars to give this book because 5-Stars does not do it justice. Thank you Twyla!!!

This book right here! Lawd!!! Let me start off by saying Ms. Turner has released some great books in the past but, NONE have left me in my feelings like The Muse. Etienne and Taryn have a love that transcends time. Their chemistry is definitely undeniable. I gladly sacrificed sleep to finish this love story. That’s just how good it was. So many emotions bubbled to the surface while reading their story. Taryn’s pain was my pain. I’ve cried during movies, and I’ve read books that have made me shed a few tears. But, The Muse had me Kim K. ugly crying and I loved every single page of it.

Beautiful! Flawless storytelling! Hot, steamy, throw your back out sex!Taryn was like a caterpillar in her cocoon back home in the states; she blossomed into the most beautiful, carefree butterfly when she met Etienne. What can I say about this handsome, sexy, French artist that these adjectives don't tell you already? He was just what Taryn needed.Fast forward to family drama that ripped out my heart, pissed me off and top that off with the most selfless act EVER done by the most caring selfless woman ever. My emotions were put through the wringer and I'm sure I need to be on a therapist's couch to get over this one but it's a book that will ALWAYS live in my heart.Thank you Twyla for writing a book about a heroine my age and in such a realistic way....and still giving us the HEA. BRAVO!!

VERY few works of fiction have made me cry... this book right here is one of them. I loved it so much so that I think I’m going reread it a couple of times... which is also rare for me.Word of advice: be prepared. Make sure you have time cause you won’t be able to put this book down once you start reading, and oh don’t forget to have tissues by your side. I guarantee you WILL cry! I literally felt Ryn’s pain!I laughed, cried, squealed, swooned, fanned myself with my kindle lol! Their love affair was just hot and beautiful! Ettiene is possibly one of the sexiest heroes I have come across in romance novels. He was wise beyond his years. Taryn’s friend Raquel was the best. We all need such friends in our lives. Her daughter was a brat IMO she blew things wayyyy out of proportion.Let me stop here before I give too much away and spoil the wonderful experience for others. I’m just glad they got their HEA!

Larks!Where do I begin? Let’s just say it’s a story I pray for into existence for every ‘1st Wife’. I highlighted so many bits that resonated the whole book looks dark!The book had EVERYTHING a woman/mother/wife goes through; what you thought was love, betrayal by someone who didn’t deserve you... (normally it stops there but this is where my prayers begin...) ... meeting someone who totally gets you where there’s such strong mutual attraction you think, ‘Nah, he can’t mean me’ because you have years of self doubt from your giving and others taking; both falling in love; bumps and scrapes but you get the happy ending you ultimately deserve.Don’t give up! I haven’t. I’ve just (metaphorically) packed my bags to France :)Thank youTyler!My words of recommendation will never be strong enough. Read this and you will see what I mean. You will just say, “WOW!’

This is one of my favourite authors and I always expect her stories to get to me. This is Taryn and Etienne's story. I think the scarfice Taryn made so her love could have his dream was what unconditional love looks like. It cost her to let go especially when she had found the real thing. This story had me in my feelings it was an emotional roller coaster but a great read. I would definitely recommend this story as a good read.

A journey of love and femininity. Loved it so much. It is an epic book. I cried so hard with this. That journey struck me so deep I'm so grateful to have read this. I have to read the rest of the authors books now. With great respect, thanks for moving me.

I was left so moved after reading this book, with all its highs and lows. Loved the characters, story line and how all human emotions were covered and covered so nicely. A must read - wish I could give it more stars.

Absolutely wonderful, though I did go through half a box of tissues. I liked everything about this book. If you are looking for a book which is well written with believable characters this is the one for you. Enjoy! I know I did :0)
