Compact charger
A very neat and compact charger, perfect for the iPhone. A magnetic MagSafe item that will give the phone one full charge. So neat you will hardly know its there while using it, and so easy to cary in you pocked or bag.

A little bit expensive but otherwise a great portable charger
I've owned and reviewed dozens of portable charging devices on Amazon, from leading brands to start-ups. This is the first by Native Union that I have reviewed, and I am impressed with it. There is pertinacity for portable charging device manufacturers to build portable chargers with massive capacity, which may be useful for camping trips, but for enough to top you up in the urban environment, this Native Union bank has been carefully designed and manufactured to a high standard.I like that it arrived in a branded cardboard box, with no plastic, which is better for the environment. On taking it out, I immediately noticed how light in weight it is compared to other similar devices I have reviewed. It also looks pretty stylish, although I am more into substance over style. It is also super-slim as you can see from my photos so it doesn't take up much space in a pocket or bag. That said, I wish it came with a little cloth drawstring bag to keep it from getting scratched or to prevent the Magsafe magnet from clinging onto items in my laptop bag.The light indicator showed this already had about 3/4 of a charge in it, so I topped it up using the cable that came with it and a preowned fast charger. Once fully charged, I tested this with both an iPhone 12 and an iPhone 15 Pro, each phone had a different style of made-for-Apple Magsafe case. The Naive Union clings to both cases with a decent amount of magnetic grip. It was very secure, I could shake it around and it didn't budge, yet was easy to take off using my hands. Speed-wise, I was pretty impressed with how quickly it charged in Magsafe mode, but using the supplied cable with my iPhone 15 Pro, it was even more noticeably faster. The only reason this is 4-stars and not 5-stars is that I think it is bordering on the expensive side. At the time of review in early July 2024 it is listed at £59.99. If this was below £50, then I think it would have been 5-stars, especially if the drawstring bag as mentioned before was thrown into the mix too.

Compact and efficient
My phone battery is getting on a bit so having extra capacity when I’m out and about is essential. This is not the cheapest option but it is easy to carry, attached firmly to my phone when in use and looks great. The Kraft colour matches my phone case, plus it’s easy to find in my bag.

Great Until It Stopped Working
The product was working great until it stopped being able to charge, altough it was still magnetically attached to my phone. It has a sleek design and looked by far the best out of products similar to it. Regardless the fact that it took around 3 weeks for it to completely stop working (no longer magnetically charges) makes it a useless product I would advise you to stay away from. The worst part is that I am completely unaware of what stopped working, as one morning when I went to attempt to charge it there was no response and I was left without a battery. I'm disappointed and expected so much better!

Slim, wide, expensive, posh, a bit stupid.
This is a classy little power bank, well packaged and presented, well made. It feels great in the hand, a solid little billet with a textured leatherette finish on the front and a soft rubberised back that is nice and grippy for holding firmly to your phone.I got it in ‘Slate Green’ and I love the colour, matches well with my green iPhone 13 Mini, unfortunately the power bank doesn’t! It’s too wide and protrudes over the edges, how unsightly!Testing the USB C port, despite what the manual states, I could not get PD to trigger, actually my meter suggests that this lacks support for any modern fast-charge standards. Perhaps this is an issue with my unit? This is designed to be primarily a wireless charger so I guess the lack of high speed wired charging is not such a problem. On to the capacity.. It’s rated at 5000mAh which in itself is very low, real world capacity in the best case would be around 3330mAh, which would be just enough to give a full charge to most smartphones but not all. To test the bank I charged it to 100% then discharged it slowly at 5V 1A via the USB C port, this is the best possible scenario, giving this power bank the opportunity to meet its spec. It fell ever so slightly short, providing me with 3100mAh after conversion and efficiency losses, this is absolutely fine for a 5000mAh bank.Unfortunately, the headline feature here is the MagSafe stuff, wireless inductive charging is great but it’s very inefficient resulting in a capacity loss of around 50%! So real world, stuck to the back of your phone, this is going to provide around 1550mAh, extending battery life by about 50% if you’re lucky.I do like the bank, it looks and feels great but it’s £60, has a tiny capacity and mine at least does not seem to output the claimed 20W PD via a wired connection. I am willing to pay a premium price for a good brand, good build quality, good features etc., but the market is so competitive now that you can get top quality banks from companies like UGREEN or Anker that outperform this in every regard and cost 1/3rd the price.Still I award it three stars out of five, it gets my coveted ‘style over substance’ award!
