My son bounces balls in the house all of the time. Welcome in the SILENT BASKETBALL. It is made from foam, yet the bounce, feel and weight all feel like an actual basketball without the noise of one! I was skeptical of this until I saw it. It is great. He plays with it daily and since there is no noise, I am happy! For the price, I think this is easily worth it!

Not totally quiet, but def quiet enough to not be bothersome and allow some energy expenditure! It bounces like a regular basketball, can still manage tricks, bother a sibling and play keep away! They now use baskets throughout the house and it’s a free for all basketball game. We bought the size 7 for my 15 y/o. No flat spots yet, has a bit of weight to it so not just bouncing an airball. All in all, a great find and a great gift!

It is a basketball made from a dense sponge so it has some weight and bounce to it. It bounces fine on hard wood, not quite as much as a regular basketball but good enough to practice dribbling indoors. To my surprise, it bounces decently well on carpet too. The main reason you would buy this is for the quieter sound and vibration. You still hear a ‘puff’ sound when dribbling but it is significantly quieter than a regular basketball. Also, it is softer on the floor so you don’t have to worry about ruining your flooring or pounding on your downstairs neighbor. What it is not for is outdoor use. You will tear it apart easily. So will a dog. Water will probably ruin it too as it is a sponge. I would not use it for shooting practice either. So if you are limited in practice space and want to practice dribbling indoors when the weather outside prevents you, using this will keep other members of the household happier than listening to a real ball. They might not even notice it if you were a couple rooms away. I would probably buy it again if I didn’t have one so definitely recommend.

The foam basketball does not bounce. To get the ball to bounce at even 70% height you have to use a substantial amount of force with each dribble. It is not like playing with a regular basketball at that point, it is legitimately like throwing a ball full force at the ground every time for it to even make it back to your palm. And when you are using that much force on the ball just to make it bounce poorly, physics dictates that unless there’s been a breakthrough in new materials with magical sound properties, there is going to cause an equally forceful sound. Basically when it bounces as high as a basketball, it was making close to or as much noise as a regular basketball. If you are looking for a replacement for a basketball that dribbles softly, this is not the product for you. If you want a rough foam ball that has no coating and a paint job to look like a basketball, this is the product for you.

The TRUEHOOPER Silent Basketball Size 7 (29.5”) is a great training tool, especially for serious basketball players. What I love most is that it really forces players to use their wrists. You can’t rely on palm control — it makes you focus on proper form and ball handling mechanics. That alone makes it excellent for skill development. It’s also extremely quiet. You can barely hear it when it hits the ground, which makes it perfect for indoor practice, apartments, garages, or late-night training sessions without disturbing anyone. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn’t feel exactly like a traditional basketball during play, so there’s a small adjustment period. But as a training tool? It does its job very well.

My 13 year old son heard about this from a friend. My son wanted a basketball that he could use indoors to practice his dribbling and ball handling skills while in the house to get extra practice but that wasn't noisy like a regular basketball. It is a great product since it feels realistic to a regular basketball size wise when he is using it and it also bounces back at a good height that is realistic to a regular basketball, whether on carpet or tile. He LOVES it and feels like it has already helped him to improve his ball handling skills and his coach noticed too at practice the other day since the coach told him he has improved:) I would highly recommend this product. We read other reviews for similar balls but this one got the best reviews and has been great. It arrived in a large box, at full size like it said it would, and was not compressed at all like some other balls said they would arrive and then those balls got poor reviews because they never fully expanded correctly. Also reviews for other balls said the balls did not bounce back high enough to easily/correctly use it for ball handling skills. Costs a little more than other balls out there but well worth the extra money to get a quality product that works great. Also the product arrived very quickly. Highly recommend this product.
