Q: How do you press the slider?

Instructions are included; the "top" is in 2 sections - one is big for a regular press; it releases & there is a smaller press that can create a pocket in a large burger, or serve as a full press for the smaller size.

Q: How do you press the hamburger for the slider when the press is larger than the Slider Ring?

Don't think you can make a slider sized stuffed burger; there's no way for the stuffed part to fit that little ring. The thing is designed to work for a certain size, and only that size - but it doesn't seem to include the directions, unless they're expecting you to make a 1/2 pound burger, which most commercial Jucys around Minneapolis are only a 1/3 pound.

The release plate is hard plastic, but it is not attached to the ring: you can push the burger out with it.

Q: Does the handles press part have raised "grill lines" in it or is it flat? Can you make just a smaller slider precisely and not use the full diameter?

I am not sure what you are asking but for slider it’s a separate mold for sliders
