Nice warm color and brightness, but delay and flicker may be an issue
I purchased 8 of these (4 packages) total, and have been somewhat satisfied with them. Let me start by mentioning the things that I'm pleased with regarding these lights. The color is very warm, very close to your typical incandescent bulb. Most people would probably not be able to tell the difference between this and an incandescent bulb by color alone. They are very bright, I would say brighter than the incandescent bulbs they replaced which is actually really nice. There are however somethings I've noticed that I would say are a little disappointing. These are the first LED lights I've used on dimmer switches. That said, the packaging says "Instant on", which has not been my experience. The lights on my dimmer switches have probably a 2 second delay. The lights on a standard switch have less delay, but still a delay none-the-less. This is not a deal breaker, but disappointing considering the package says "Instant on". The second thing that I have been disappointed with is flicker. Yes, I have noticed some flicker from some of the lights, particularly on lower dim settings. It's not a constant flicker, but an occasional one. However, one of the lights was so bad I had to move it to a non-dimming switch. I'm using 8 of these bulbs on 3 different dimmer switches, so I'm certain the issues I'm experiencing are not due to 1 or 2 bad bulbs but rather a fairly common characteristic with these LEDs in general.I've purchased other LEDs in the past locally at Lowes and Meijer, but these Feit bulbs are the first I've experienced with flicker and delay. Granted, these are the first dimming bulbs I've tried.I think my next purchase I may try another brand.

Nice Light but Poor Warranty
The bulbs are a perfect brightness for my office and they are "instant on" and dimmable, which is a plus. This particular purchase was a replacement for two bulbs out of 8 that I bought in February that started to malfunction. When I received these bulbs I realized the package notes that the bulbs can last over 22 years, but they really only give you a 5-year warranty, which is still not bad. The warranty as listed on the package "This lamp has a 5 year, free replacement warranty. If it fails or you are not satisfied with its performance, contact Feit Electric at [email protected] or call toll free 1-866-326-BULB for instructions on lamp replacement. This replacement is the sole remedy available and liability for incidental or consequential damage is expressly excluded. Do not return the bulb to the store."I contacted Feit about replacing the bulbs after reading the warranty and was very disappointed to hear that they will only replace the bulbs if the defective bulbs are returned to them. AND the customer must pay for the shipping to return them. The shipping costs to return the bulbs would more than likely cost almost as much as the bulbs. Most companies would gladly provide a return shipping label. When 2 out of 8 bulbs are malfunctioning, I would think the manufacturer would be happy to pay for shipping to prevent further defects. I probably would not buy these bulbs again under the circumstances.Update: As of 3/4/16 two more of the original eight bought in February 2015 are flickering and need replacement. That's 4 out of 8 so far. I definitely won't buy this brand again.

A perfect upgrade and replacement
I've only had these for about 24 hours, but they've already earned my rave review. I had three recessed, fixtures with a dimmable switch in what is now a windowless kid's playroom, using 65W incandescent floodlight bulbs (BR38 or 40.) Boy, were those things hot, with a worn yellow color... they really did heat up the room, which really made me think about the wasted power. Because we used these lights so frequently, we thought it best to look into LEDs. I am very glad that we did. These 65W-equivalent LEDs were a perfect upgrade and replacement: 9.5W used; a very nice, warm white light; instant-on and no buzz at all at any full or dimmed level; and specifically made for recessed lighting (for heat dissipation.) They are made of plastic, so I felt a little less scared about my 2- and 3-year-olds "helping" me unpackage them. Also, these are absolutely cool to the touch. I was expecting recessed fixture-specific bulbs to direct their heat forward out of the fixture, but there looks to be almost no need with these LED bulbs. As we put these BR30-sized bulbs in, we noticed how much smaller they were than the existing bulbs... but that's our fault for not determining the exact size we had before. But, a floodlight-shape with a medium base is exactly what we needed, and these Feit 65W LED BR30s fit the bill perfectly. We bought one package of two to test out, and I just ordered two more pairs to finish off all of the fixtures. Highly recommended.

Bright, warmish, good beam angle
Holy toledo these are bright! They make the rest of my kitchen lights look anemic by comparison. They aren't as warm as a CFL or incandescent, but they are an improvement over most LEDS. Things don't all sad and washed out when I turn on the lights, though they do tend to overpower all the other bulbs in the room. I've noticed no flicker or delay when I turn them on, though other reviewers report experiencing both. The wide beam angle spreads this light around the kitchen nicely. The price is good for what you get, always assuming that they live up to the promises made on the packaging. However, be aware that the 22 year life estimate is based on 3 hours of use a day. In my kitchen they get at least four times that per day, which would cut the estimated life span down to around 5 years and change. This is still a respectable lifespan for a bulb and since it comes with a 5-year replacement warranty, I'm pretty much covered. I'm going to look for these when I need to replace other, less attractive bulbs in the future. I'll probably end up with a kitchen so bright I could do surgery in it, but that's not a huge problem for me. It's nice to be able to see what I'm doing.
