Dr. Marten's 1461 Original, Unisex-Adult Lace-Up Flats

I am used to buying a size smaller with 1461 Doc Martens. I have always been an 11 but I bought a 10 with these and they fit fine. Just to give important detail...it is only in these wide fitting docs model that I take a 10. I bought another pair of docs but with softer leather (but still a non-narrow toe) and in my usual 11 and they are fine. It's partly the toughness of the leather that is the issue but 1461s also seem to be big made.In my last pair of 1461s I took out the excellent leather insole in my left shoe because it is slightly the larger of my two feet. This is how I balanced them up. However, the absence of the insole also meant I wore down to the rubber sole at the ball of my foot more quickly (still took a couple of years though). Interestingly, just before throwing them out, I put in the insole I was removing from my new docs into the left shoe of the old ones and found them to be comfortable. In other words, the toughness of the leather was a factor in them being a little to tight for the insole I had removed initially.

Being Dr Martin's, of which I have owned many over the last 20 years, I was extremely disappointed with pair. I have only had them since January and the sole has split open along the inside of the left shoe between the black part and the toffee coloured part. This has never happened before.The quality of the brand I loved and trusted seems to have been lost.

I've warn dr martin shoes for 30 years and been happy this pair though we're very disappointing they are the same style number I've always had but sadly the design has changedI liked dr martin shoes because the had a good fit but this pair had a much more pointed toe and a slimmer fitNext time I buy dr Martins I will certainly go to the shop but if this is there regular design won't be buying

Been wearing these for over twenty years, so it was time for a new pair. Shoes arrived today.Put them on - comfortable as always - walked down to the shops round the corner, came back, took the shoes off.And the sole of the right shoe immediately came away from the leather upper at the heel.In the past, I have had up to five years wear out of a pair of these shoes. This pair lasted five minutes.Sure, I can get them repaired, hopefully, but what a faff with what was supposed to be a brand new and not cheap pair of shoes.Extremely disappointed.

I'm afraid to say that Dr Martens have lost another customer. I bought these in June and all was fine. But in September the sole has disconnected from the shoe. I only wear them twice per week when I go to the office and was on holiday for 3 weeks in August...so I reckon I've worn them probably about 15-20 times. Amazon are great though with their returns. I've gone off and bought another brand that are still made in England. Dr Martens- you need to sort your quality out. These are not cheap shoes.

Brought a pair of these in October 2017 and was very pleased,however 3 months later and the soles have come unstuck from the uppers on both shoes. I have been wearing Dr Marten's for over 30 years but always brought the boots which have stitching all around the soles but these unfortunately do not. I cannot recommend these shoes as I feel they are not fit for purpose.

I am really disappointed in these shoes.After only a few months daily school wear the body of the shoe split away from the sole, we have had to glue them several times in different places. These shoes do not seem like genuine DM's, i've worn DM's daily for years with the only damage being a worn sole. NOT IMPRESSED!
