fantastic! i’m recovering from a concussion and needed something somilar to my cognitive rehab sessions that i could do at home. this book is it exactly - involving different kinds of thinking, incl easy thru hard exercises, all presented clearly in a very attrative and sturdy little book. would give 10 stars if i could.

This book is brilliant -- even though I haven't solved a single puzzle inside it yet. I'm still working on the one on the front cover -- otherwise known as figuring out whether these really ARE the 125 best brain teasers of all time. I started by trying to establish when time began, and whether "all time" means all currently known time, or whether I should assume the title also includes theoretical time. After several months of deep study on that topic, I found myself questioning "what even is time?". That is proving to be a devilishly tricky question. I'm a year and a half into it so far and there is no end in sight. In the event that I come to the conclusion that time is straightforward and linear, I intend to conduct a thorough study of the most admired brain teasers for each major epoch (just in human history for now -- but I'm open to exploring those of other species, and possibly even alien lifeforms), before establishing a set of objective criteria for what constitutes a "best" brain teaser. I will then do a comparative analysis of the 125 brain teasers in this book against those from throughout the ages, in order to make a final judgement on the veracity of this book's title. So consumed have I become with this gargantuan brain-teasing task that I have recently resigned from my job as a career public servant to make this my life's work.

Nice mix of word and number puzzles which start easy and then get more difficult. Good time filler. Good brain exercise!

Great for quieting the brain right before bed. Sometimes my mind races when I’m should be sleeping, but when I get this book out I’m able to distract myself from daily stressors so that my brain can start to wind down.

It’s what you think it would be. A book of different brain teasers. It starts you off at an easy level and you work your way up.

This book is a book of easy-very hard teasers, and I'm having a blast. I had 2 brain surgeries between September and December of 2023, and needed something to help with memory and comprehension. The easy in this is making me think and I'm getting them correct. I know that may be easy for you, but for me it's huge. I'm sitting here writing this review with a smile and a hope again. Thank you to Marcel Danesi for writing this book and amazon for getting it to me.

Not super challenging for adults but fun for kids and teens. Good to pass the time in the bathroom or on a car trip.
