Not right for poodles or dogs with short curly hair
I tried this brush as I have a poodle and his fur needs regular grooming to keep it tidy and get the knots out (especially his tail). I also thought that the thicker bristles might be more comfortable for him than the finer ones on the brushes I've been using so far. However, I was quite disappointed with this brush. The bristles are quite sharp and, because they're solid, not flexible (like on my other brushes), they don't flex at all as you brush them through. So, while the brush does get through his fur, it scraped against my dog's skin and he really didn't like it. I tried starting brushing on the surface, but the bristles are too thick to get a good purchase on the fur.The thickness of the bristles also meant that the brush didn't work the knots out as well as others I've used with finer ones. After a couple of minutes trying, I gave up and went back to using the old brush.I think this brush might be better suited to dogs with longer, straighter coats, such as spaniels, rather than dogs with thicker, short or curly coats that might need something finer and more specialist.

Cheap and cheerful
A greta comb, my dog isn't an obvious shedder yet this comb manages to collect hair that I didn't notice previously. It is smooth acting too and doesn't get caught in my dogs fur so doesn't cause any pain at all. Nice and cheap!

Sturdy and effective
My dog has a thick, dense double coat and the usual rakes just get caught in the thick hairs and don't reach and pull up the soft, fluffy undercoat. This penetrates really well, doesn't scratch the skin so is well tolerated, and gets up the undercoat nicely. Also much better than the flat brush with lots of thin pins which are scratchy and he won't let me use this.Works very well and can recommend.

It's sort of works
It's ok it doesn't remove a lot with each pass through of my dogs coat but it gets rid of the larger patches of fur, our dog didn't seem to mind it she seemed comfortable, very easy to use the ends are blunt so no chance of stabbing them, Its good for my akita who has medium long hair length, not that affective but good enough for maintenance.

Get your dog neat and tidy, they'll thank you
I mean, obviously they won't thank you because they can't speak. But they'll be more comfortable if you can keep their coat neat and tidy without tugging and pulling at it.It's a simple enough tool but the dogs seem to like being combed with it - or brushed? I'm not sure what rounded of spikes that look like a cross between a brush and a comb counts as?Used gently you should get good results.

Didn’t really suit a poodle type coat
Dog Undercoat Rake, Dog Brushes for Shedding, Dog Dematting Brush CombThis is a very robust brush/comb with very hard metal teethCan be quite unforgiving and could easily hurt your dog in my opinionMy two Goldendoodles coats didn’t really respond too well to it but used gently did get a bit of successMaybe their coats are too curly but I was also frightened of hurting themThere are directions and warnings on the back but hidden by a sticker! Not really for us I’m afraid but might suit your kind of dog(Hope you found my comments helpful)
