Does the Beurer IL50 use near or far infrared wavelength?

I know this is a couple of years past when you asked this question, but it will help others who are interested. I emailed the company earlier today, as I also wish to know the answer. Here is their response: " Thank you for your interest in our products specifically our infrared heat lamps. Please note that currently only our infrared heat lamp model number IL 50 has been approved for sale in the North American market. The IL 50 uses near to mid infrared light. The complete wave length range (spectral output) of the IL 50 infrared heat lamp is (in nanometers) from 500nm to a peak of 2500nm.* Short wave range = IRA 800 to 1400nm* Middle wave range = IRB 1400nm to 3000nm"

Does any have a good guess for the spectral power distribution of the lamp? I wonder if this is any better than those 250W incandescent heat lamp...

Can we see the red light when the unit is switched on? My new unit does not do this.

It should light up. This seems to be a common issue with this lamp.

Does this lamp produce far infrared or near infrared light?

Both. Manufacturer specs list wavelengths between 500-2500nm. Rest assured, this is nothing like a 660nm or 850nm near infrared bulb. This device produces very hot heat that can burn your skin if the device is too close for the 15 minute duration.
