Best electric kettle IMHO out there
I have used it everyday multiple times since Mar 2020, its been 5 years and it still works as new I like the Piano black with large display and its easy to use and view big temprature settings. I love that it heats up a full kettle to 212 pretty quickly ( Under a min) The water is in a stainless steel container and at no time comes in touch with plastic which I appreciate . Green tea 175 is a great preset Its practical, sturdy, quick to heat, long life, large capacity to others ... highly recommended

Reliable & Stylish Choice — Krups 1.5L Electric Kettle Impresses!
I recently got the KRUPS 1.5L Electric Kettle, Cool Touch, and so far I’m really happy with it. The leakage is perfectly fine — no drips or leaks around the spout or base, even when the kettle is full. The safety features are excellent: the outer surface stays cool while boiling, and the auto shut-off works perfectly, which makes it feel very safe to use. When it comes to taste, the stainless steel interior keeps the water clean — no plastic smell or strange aftertaste at all. The kettle heats up quickly and efficiently — 1.5 L boils in just a few minutes. The overall kettle quality feels solid and premium — sturdy handle, smooth lid, and a well-balanced design. And the colour is beautiful! Sleek, modern, and fits perfectly into my kitchen style. Overall, this kettle combines safety, speed, and elegant design. I’m really pleased with my purchase and definitely recommend it!

Excellent product - using it daily and still going strong after 3 1/2 years.
We use this kettle every single day, and it continues to work extraordinarily well. If you are looking for a kettle, that’s got accurate temperature, a clear read out, good capacity, and durability, this is for you.

Almost Perfect (Smart Temp Version)
UPDATE (March 2023): Nearly three years after purchasing this kettle, it still works and hasn't failed in any substantial way. The only issue we had is after the first year, the button to open the lid started to fail to open the lid, so we've spend the past two years having to make multiple attempts to get the lid to open to refill it. But the LEDs and power system still work just fine. We just replaced the unit with a 5 liter Zojirushi water boiler to match other appliances in our kitchen (and because we got tired of the lid on this unit not opening immediately.) Otherwise, we still recommend it. Just make sure you realize, the only way to actually see the LEDs is to keep the unit at an angle like in my photo from 2020. That gets old, too. But still, this unit just doesn't break down. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Two models are listed here, I am reviewing the smart temperature version with the LED screen and keep-warm function. I’ve had electric kettles for many years, long before they finally became a thing in American kitchens. But I always bought the cheap versions and they always burned out. To replace my last cheap kettle, I finally decided to get a more expensive one with features that my household would use. I spent around six hours comparison shopping, comparing reviews on different websites, reading user reviews, looking at user pictures, comparing feature sets, you know the drill, over and over. I wanted a 1.7 L, double walled (i.e. cool-touch), fully stainless-steel interior, multi-temperature machine with a keep-warm function and excellent reviews. This single Krups model was the only one I could find in all those hours of research that successfully fit that bill. We ran a few cycles with vinegar and water, and then clean water, when we first got it in response to reviews here that the interior needed a very good washing out before use. We were immediately amazed how quiet and relatively fast this unit is. Unlike our old, single-walled, metal electric kettle, this one does not sound like it’s about to takeoff for the moon while it’s boiling. You really barely hear it. You do clearly hear its sharp, loud double beep when the boiling’s done. We love this feature, although there is no way to silence it. And while no electric kettle in the United States is going to boil nearly as fast as an electric kettle in Europe because of the differences in our electrical voltage, this unit is substantially faster than our old one as well. There is no outside water-level gauge, but that also means less plastic for your water to come in contact with (here, no plastic at all on the inside.) The top opens easily with a single press of a button, and can further be opened to 90°, making a very wide opening for filling and for cleaning. The maximum fill line of 1.7 L is very large and easily visible on the inside. Refilling this unit has been very easy, and it is also very easy to pop open to make sure there’s enough water before you run another cycle. We also immediately found ourselves using the keep-warm feature. It keeps the water warm for half an hour after you boil it in case you need to walk away before you make your tea, etc. It’s a bit difficult to discern whether it remembers the keep-warm setting after you pour (although just pressing the Boil button the unit does remember your temperature setting), so we do find ourselves constantly turning that feature back on—which, unlike just boiling from scratch, requires you to cycle inconveniently through all of the temperature settings first. But it is still very convenient to be able to come back to the kettle on an afternoon or morning when you are drinking a lot of tea, to find the water already warm enough to pour. Four stars and not five because of the fiddliness of the keep-warm feature, and because the control buttons on the handle are also a little janky. The buttons are those awful, soft-press buttons like you find on a microwave touch panel, and are rather difficult to depress, making me wonder how long they will last. I feel though that if the controls break or the keep-warm fiddliness forces another purchase, while not cheap, the unit is just inexpensive enough to give these features the benefit of the doubt for now. Also, and maddeningly, the unit arrives with a full-size, fake LED readout sticker stuck on top of the actual LED readout on the side of the carafe—and not with an easy-off adhesive, either. You’ll (eventually) get the sticker off—but you’ll spend 15 minutes trying every trick you know to get semi-permanent adhesive off the side of consumer-grade plastic, and still won’t get all of it off. I did not take points off for this because it doesn’t have anything to do with the functioning of the unit, but I feel it must be noted because this was a totally unnecessary annoyance before even being able to clean the unit for use. Otherwise my household is very satisfied with this kettle, more satisfied than we ever were with our previous cheaper electric kettles. The brands with similar features we almost bought included Miroco, Hamilton Beach, and Cuisinart, among others. We’re satisfied with our final choice.

I like better than cuisinart
I got this to replace my Cuisinart electric kettle that also had various temp settings to boil the perfect cup of tea. The cuisiart died after 10 y or so; the lid no longer opened. The buttons had worn off but it still heated. Besides looking more elegant, this seems to heat faster and I don’t accidentally burn my knuckles by touching th carafe. I also like the digital T. If I boiled water and forgot about it, you can check the temp to know if you need to boil again, or if the water T is still fine. I live in area with well water, so I’ve only put purified water in the kettle (couple times spring water. I bought it Nov 2021 and I have yet to descale it (6/2023). Looks brand new. Use multiple times per day. I wish it were available in a sleek white; almost didn’t get it since it didn’t exactly match but I’m glad I did. Easier to keep the outside clean than cuisinart too. One quibble: to me, neither the cuisinart or this are truly cordless. The kettle sits on a base; the base has short cord to plug in to outlet. Once water heated, the kettle is lifted from the disc (the disc has the cord), and you can carry to table or wherever without the cord. I think this technicality is important bc you really can’t take it camping unless you have electric. Seems like there could be rechargeable kettles like charge once a week or something. One other thing that could be better is if you could see the water level from outside the kettle. That feature present on cuisinart, but not a deal breaker for me. This is a much superior electric kettle that I had been waiting for, for years. The price has come down a lot since 11/2021 too so it’s a steal now. 8/2024 still in perfect condition. Using filtered water, I’ve never had to descale it. Fast. The fact that I can’t see the water level through the pot bothers me less as the minimum water is just less than 2 mugs of tea, and the almost full makes a quart.

For years I refused to use an electric kettle, because I didn't want my hot water coming into contact with plastic (hello carcinogens!). Most kettles have a plastic viewing-window to indicate the water level, even if they're stainless steel. This is the first electric kettle I've encountered that doesn't boil your water in plastic - YAAAAY!!! It's so quick! I grind my coffee beans / pack them into my coffee maker, and the water's already boiled. I love seeing the temperature as it heats. The exterior looks completely black, but when you hold under direct light it's actually a translucent eggplant (little hidden surprise for people who appreciate colour). It might scratch, so I use an extra fine buffing cloth to dry the exterior. To keep the interior from getting cloudy scale buildup, I use 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water inside the kettle once per week and let it soak overnight. Vinegar & water mix can be reused many times if you dump it into a spare container. You can skip the vinegar bath, if you're not fussy. I paid around $95 CAD, more than I've spent on a kitchen gadget before. It's been the best purchase, completely worth it to me. I absolutely love this kettle.
