Micromax Bharat 1, V407 (Single Sim 4G), Black

I think this product is not available. I have two 4G Sim slot and One SD slot. This nice product.

1) The process flow for any menu option ... like say to send a sms is not user friendly... I am unable to forward a sms received from one sender to another sender;; to add a new caller contact is very difficult;; phone settings are very difficult to change....2) Call volume is very low. and Moreover, if we use dual sim, the volume goes down drastically.

Previously I posted a very detailed observation on this device Micromax Bharat 1 ( V407) after using it and also had been updating my review frequently .Now , today I am again editing the review to make it compact and also to share a new things i.e. You can install android apps ( apk files ) in this phone by a a method available at XDA . I can now install any android apps but by choosing proper variant of those apps as per android version, API , dpi and architecture of cores.1st part : Details about phone obtained by CPU-Z ( screenshot attached):Model V407Qualcomm SD 210/212 processor ,Dual cores ( ARM Cortex A-47 clocked at 200 Mhz to 1.09 Ghz . Available RAM 411 mbAdreno (TM) 304 GPU @ 307 Mhz240x320 pixel screen , 151 dpi ( dots per inch) ,Android version 4.4.4 , API 19,2nd Part: Available features: ( main highlights)1) Whatsapp and FB Lite version will be installed via System Update provided by Micromax. The update also fixed few other issues as well which I described earlier.Micromax has restricted the device to App installation, so you can not install 3rd party apk files at first place.2) Both slots support 4G SIM but one at a time. It is a 4G+2G or 3G+2G standby phone. Remember there might be phone supports 4G+4G standby but is no phone available in India which supports Dual 4G activities simultaneously. I checked with JIO 4G, idea 4G, Vodafone 4G .3) I use hotspot or usb tethering for 4G internet to pc for more than 14 to 16 hours continuously or sometimes the whole day or night. Using 4G internet on pc was the main purpose i had bought this phone and I am happy that it serves this purpose efficiently.3) This phone supports 4G ViLTE i.e. native video calling but did not work properly though Whatsapp video calling in daylight with 3G or 4G network is really appreciable undoubtedly. ( front camera is VGA remember but does the job good)4) Pre-installed Micromax TV / Zenga TV works well though some issues were noticed before that system update , now fixed and working properly.If you want to view more TV channels just go to m.hellotv.in and m.nexgtv.com in chrome browser and play live TV.TV channels in hellotv.in uses rtsp link, so you can visit it in opera mini and play TV via media player5) YouTube is a shortcut in chrome browser. You can also watch online videos via hotstar.com / sonyliv.com in chrome but screen can not be rotated.I must say operating chrome in this phone is very difficult, opera is good and smooth in it.6) Audio quality and loudness is acceptable at this price , So as the camera but battery life is really good.3rd Part: Unresolved issues as of now : ( Needed to be fixed)1) The default photo viewer can not zoom pictures . It can not even fit an image into full screen. So bad.2) Though in micromax live tv app all the tv channels and videos are loaded in landscape mode but In default video player and also in YouTube or in any other online video streaming websites I did not find any options to rotate the video to play in landscape mode.3) T9 mode can not be disabled . it creates hassle while typing , you have to toggle between T9 and normal mode for typing every 2nd word.All problems can be solved by pushing updates , Micromax should do that. While I have been waiting for updates I actually have solved all this problem and explore a big things . As I can install apk files now , i installed mx player, share it , pics art etc Quick pic, all those issue are gone. Even anyone can try that method available at XDA forum.4th part : Android App Enjoyment:I can use Hotstar, SonyLIV , VOOT, JioTV etc app now .But before that I had to install Google Play Service, Google Services framework, Gooogle Account Manager and Google playstore. At first The google play service frequently got stopped , i had to fix that issue first by reseting app preferences in the App manager. Though google playstore could not reach to server some reason but it is required to be installed and running to use Hotstar or Sonyliv otherwise they won't open,I have amazon prime membership, So in this device now I am also enjoying exclusive prime video.But with only 411 MB ram, I have to stop an app before I can use another app.At this price this phone offers really good and enough features , android in a keypad phone is a different and nice experience.It can be recommended to those persons who don't need bunch of apps and games but just needs the most basic things like 4G volte, hotspot, wifi, WhatsApp, Facebook, few tv channels etc.Well,if you can unlock your phone for app installation you can utilise and enjoy more than what you just can not expect at this price.Regards - Jahid

If you think to buy a basic phone with hotspot instead buying hotspot device, then this phone is fine.But as a mobile, this is a waste product. Even saving contacts also big headache. If you want to use other features in phone, you have to sit with the developers who developed this and get Knowledge transfer from them. Phones released 15 years back also have better features, easy to use compared to this.Conclusion: If you want hotspot facility go for it. Otherwise stay away.Added on 31'Jan'19 --> With in 5 months this phone dead. Not charging at all. So get support, support centers are miles away from the city.

Justice to its existence, this phone delivers to what it promised. Better in performance than its successor v409. To get best battery life use the lowest brightness to the screen and turn off the GPS as it is of no use without a MAP app and also one will not use this phone to navigate gue to small screen. Believe me lowest brightness is enough to navigate through the screen due to big icons of applications. Many people are complaining that it is a single sim where as the product is supposed to be dual sim. Just to mention this product v407 comes in two variants single and dual sim, make sure to read sellers description before purchasing and refrain yourself from complaining later. For me this phone is ideal to be used as secondary/personal/backup phone which I can also use as a dongle to connect to the internet. Demanding full fledged internet service from this feature phone is not justifiable. But whatsapp usage to do video calling and chat is best upto its level. Talking about the camera, do not expect high end camera in this category of phones atleast. With above mentioned restrictions which is not at all harmful one can get a battery backup of more than 3 days with normal calling but if you use it predominantly as hitspot to access internet then definitely the battery drains out quickly. For this reason, if I am stationary and required internet for my laptop, I prefer connecting phone via USB to access internet for long long tine.

Everthing has been memtioned in previous reviews.I will just mention about the exact battery backup test that i did.I turned on the mobile hotspot on bharat 1 and used the 4g jio sim internet in form of wifi on my smartphone ( lenovo zuk z1). I used it for about 1 hour and i was completely shook by watching the battery percentage after 1 hour. It fell from 78% to 68% only. That is only 10% battery was used for 1 hour of hotspot. I am really amazed.If you want to give this phone to your father or mother. Go for it. Or if you need a secondary phone for calling or you want to use it as a JIO-FI, i think it will be good.Only problem that i found is the interface. It takes some time to learn as the cursor(pointer) is used in this case for typing or browsing. But not a big deal .So overall i am very happy with my purchase .
