Silver Color 2inches Aluminium Alloy Fuel Cap Weld On Filler Neck And Oil Tank Cap

I am really liking this product, don't need as much water and instructions are simple.I only wish that the box it comes in would close with the heat indicator attached. I like to keepthings in storage in original box, but you can't close this one unless lid and indicator taken apart.looking for box to store it in :/

This looks better than it feels - it has some rough and sharp edges that I think should have been taken care of during manufacturing. I don't see an easy way to ease the edges without chucking it up on a lathe. The weld bung is a little difficult to cut accurately, and it seems like it should have been reduced on that side so it could be internally welded. As it is, it requires some rework to really be applied properly and the time savings that may have been imagined by buying this may be taken up through fixing the flaws.

Exactly what I needed for an aluminum water tank. This is a very well-made cap and neck, just the right size to get a full-handed grip on. The neck and cap screw together very tightly and there is a synthetic o-ring for water-tightness. It appears to make a great seal and I think it would do just fine under high temp as well if your application required that. The only slight negative I have is there are some sharp-ish edges on the finger gripping surface, not enough to cut but slightly uncomfortable on bare hands without gloves. A bit of buffing and I got the edges smooth although this is possibly personal preference, it's not really necessary. If you need a cap for your project this one is really nice, recommended!

There are certainly better quality out there. Like others have mentioned, the threads are a little rough. I do have concerns about getting a good seal. I wouldn't order again if I'm being honest.

I noticed that there were pieces of aluminum all around the cap and the threads feel rough so I be worried that there might be more FME issues in the future. Make sure you clean this up thoroughly before trying to install it.

The aluminum was full of impurities and was difficult to weld. Without changing anything, I moved to another area on the same piece I was welding and no problems. Went back to finish welding on this cap and the weld was full of impurities. Very disappointing, to have a week and a half of work looking great and to have the cap look bad. Otherwise machining was fairly good. The logo on the top is not shown on the picture and is ugly as well. Would not have ordered it had I known that there was a logo like that on there.

Works good but there is some impurity in the aluminium when you weld it …
