I have severe HF hearing loss in my right ear, less so in my left. That makes it hard to follow conversation in meetings. I compared high price ($3000 and $800+) custom programmed hearing aids with a several carefully selected, lower priced hearing devices from Amazon in several real audio environments (home, restaurants, etc.). Reputable hearing device sellers, including audiologists, allow a 30-90 day full refund trial period, so I used that to do the comparisons - limited this to a few carefully chosen devices that seemed right for my specific conditions. This hearing Audiben hearing amplifier was the best of all I have tried and its programs can be adapted to fit different environments.One major reason for doing the comparison tests was that I wanted to have a decent pair of hearing devices "that I could afford to lose". These things are tiny and it isn't that hard for them to be misplaced or knocked off of you ear. My plan is to use have two pair - a less expensive pair for "everyday" use , and save the "best pair" for meetings and special occasions.I do recommend getting a hear test from Audiologist ($50-100) to learn what your specific hearing issues are. Be sure to keep your chart to understand what kind of devices you really need). You will undoubtedly also get a compelling sales pitch to use whatever Name Brand expensive hearing aid the audiologist has a business arrangement with - they don't make a living selling hearing tests! Ask about a free trial period using whatever they recommend. During the free trial, you should also look for and test one or more other affordable "generic" hearing devices that appear to meet your needs.My audiologist was pitching his most expensive programmable $3000 hearing aid (that is for just one ear, not both) with all kinds of bells and whistles (Smartphone App, etc. that I did not need or want). So I took advanage of the free trial period.Note that I only purchased this particular hearing device because it had several features I liked AND I caught a significant price drop. It's Amazon price swung from over $500 to under $200 (most of the time), then recently dropped below $100 - which indicates the excessive retail markups on most hearing devices.Almost all hearing devices are made in China, and "Name Brand" devices sold in the US seem to have a 5-10X retail markup over generic version prices. Of course some generic brands are selling excess production, older versions, or devices that don't quite meet specs. This particular "Audiben" device in the generic version of the name brand Otofonix "Encore" hearing amplifiers (which sort of explains the wide prices swings).

I bought these hearing aids through Amerzon, which are costing £219 and I have fiddled with them,can get a squeak, but put them in my ear, and can't hear nothing. Don't waste your money on these.

Instructions are brief and not sufficient.Came with some accessories that were not even mentioned in the instructions and I had no idea what they were for.Sound quality is poor.

Sent back stopped working after a few day

Meine Mutter ist 92 und hört mit Diesem Gerät besser als mit dem vom Hörspezialisten.Jetzt kommt das Aber!Das Gerät ist jetzt ca.6Monate alt und es funktioniert nicht mehr.Habe mehrmals Audiben angeschrieben 1mal eine Antwort erhalten und jetzt ist funkstille.Normal wäre das ein Garantiefall aber Sie melden sich nicht mehr.Kundenservice ist unterste Schublade ,schreiben jetzt schon seid fast 5Monate. Vor ca.2,5 Monate haben Sie gesagt wir sollen das Gerät zurücksenden und sie werden es reparieren.Dann habe ich nicht mehr gehört.Jetzt fragen Sie auf einmal welcher Adresse ich angegeben haben und wer der Absender ist.Ich gaube meine Mutter wird vorher sterben bevor ich das Hörgerät bzw. das Geld zurückbekomme.

Il dispositivo inviato non è assolutamente Quello descritto da Amazon. Non è Audiben (spagnolo) bensì È una marca proveniente dalla Cina come mostrano anche le cosiddette istruzioni che non solo non istruiscono e non spiegano che ho in mano ii 12 canali descritto,. Ma addirittura fa una lista di dispositivi mai sentiti. Infatti a pagina 10 caratteristiche elenca i dispositivi Rocker 201 202 602 e ancora 200 400 800 e 1600. Caratteristiche di altri modelli e  non del modello che io ho ordinato. E cinese mai nominato su Amazon.Il funzionamento anche, con misure audiologiche alla mano (sono un esperto) assomiglia vagamente ai modelli top 12 canali.Diciamo che, nonostante la allegra sostituzione con altro dispositivo cinese, un certo valore lo ha. Ma non superiore a 100 euro. Dulcis in fundo, inviando questa stessa al venditore, mi risponde che forse hanno infilato le istruzioni errate. In tal caso, dovrebbe aggiungere "te le mandiamo".... invece omette.. Scusandomi con Amazon, debbo restituire.
