I have a microscope that has a Video screen on it and once I got it out of the box and was using it, there was gunk on the sensor. I tried a few tricks to get it clean and did not have any success. Well Not long after getting it I got some long foam swabs. But was afraid to use them to clean it. Then I seen this and knew I needed it as it helps clean up Sensors. I opened the box and went to town, For about 3 seconds the swabs that came with the kit were too wide. Never fear I had ones from a previous purchase. They fit fine and in combination with the cleaning solution and my swabs the gunk was gone. Sadly I didn't think to take any pictures and Im sorry .. I was excited and was so super happy to have it finally working as I love microscopes. But It did clean the sensor and it did take a few wipes as what was on there must have been like a grease. So now have a clean sensor because this was the right liquid to clean it . what I tried before didn't make it much better than it was before the cleaning solution. So was kinda at my wits end and its a nice scope too. So this resurrected it and I know when it's time to clean my sensors on my cameras This is what I reaching for.

This cleaning kit works, but it's not the best. You have to carefully meter out the cleaning solution on the swab to avoid streaking on your cameras sensor; this dropper makes it hard to do that reliably.. you might waste a swab by overloading it with fluid- expensive problem with only 6 swabs. Still cheaper than a pro cleaning.

Cleaning a digital camera sensor is not for the faint of heart. There are professionals who do that, and it's wise to take your camera to them when it needs cleaning. It is all too easy to end up with something worse if you do it yourself.That said . . . some people don't have convenient access to a professional cleaning service, and sometimes something Really Bad happens in the field when changing lenses. So . . . if the time comes when you really, really must, a kit like this is helpful.It has to be used with great care, to include not getting too much fluid on the sensor. That's the biggest problem with self-cleaning - you end up with dried streaks that are visible in the pictues. So, practice, read the instructions, watch videos - and then use this when you absolutely have to.

I change lenses like a maniac. I've done shoots in the rain and on the beach so my sensor gets more buildup than I like. This solution and swab is great for crop sensor cameras if you don't want to pay for a professional cleaning which could be the cost of a cheap prime sometimes! If you're scared to clean your sensor, just watch a YouTube video. Lock it, blow the dust out with the sensor facing the ground, and clean away! You can also use these for full frames in a pinch if you forgot to order more 24mm wide swabs.
