It is small and soft brass and fine enough it could be easily bent, but it is exactly as it should be for the task.I had to order the one piece stainless rod it is made for as it has the wrong threading & is male instead of female not usable by the Hoppes #9 rod amazon suggested as an addition to the order. Well that was also cheap and i have a use for it as the old one got bent. I never liked the force i had to use ramming patches through on my Savage 93r17 BTV SS i love that bore as far as i can tell everything about it is perfect and would never want to use anything abrasive.

This fits small caliber cleaning rods. You'll need an adapter for most 22 or bigger caliber cleaning rods. Pro Shot sells an adapter, although I can't imagine why this tiny patch holder would be preferred over a larger one for those applications.As far as performance, it works as expected. It's for small caliber, so it fits small patches. It fits my one piece 36" Pro Shot .20 caliber cleaning rod without needing any adapter.

So initially i could not thread it unto my flexible rod. Maybe like a micro burr?? Used some force and got past the burr and it finally threaded on. So quality control is a bit lacking.

Great product, but hard to find, so buy several. Great for cleaning all .17 or .177 barrels, just got to cut some patches, ad solvent and quickly clean your barrel. Great for my .17 HMR, .17 MACH 2, and my .177 caliber PCP Air rifle.

Much safer to use than the plastic puller that came with my cleaning kit which stripped and broke off inside of the barrel.

It is well made and of course better than plastic. I chose this item because I wanted it for my .22 calibers. It gives more room for the patches. It is just an easier, smoother way to do it. Of course I added other items for free shipping. I'm satisfied with this product.
