No assembly needed. I put a blanket in there and it has stayed dry, despite the rain. Plenty of room. Very sturdy. Won't be taken off by the wind.

This is absolutely fantastic! I live in Gloucestershire and the rain here, when it comes, is of Biblical proportions. My little cat, Lady Arwen, LOVES being outside as we're surrounded by fields and has now taken to sleeping outside at night. The rain recently has been torrential, so I had to do something.I looked at the wooden 'cat kennels' and those foam jobs: the former would leak and rot; the latter would simply blow away in the gale-force winds we also have. I usually loathe anything plastic, but this is a really intelligent design; it's just a single piece of very strong moulded plastic, so it can't leak, can't rot, will be dead easy to clean and, at 4kg, won't blow away. The 'porch' also leans downwards at a slight angle from the perpendicular and the door is set a little further back, so there's added protection from the elements.I've shoved it amongst some vegetation that the little Lady usually shoots beneath when it rains; now she has her own little house. I was worried at first as to whether she'd take to it as it's the same shape as her detested pet-carrier. I left it in the kitchen so she could sniff it and then put in an old dressing-gown which a) she always loves to treadle, and b) gives me an excuse to buy myself a new one. Within minutes she was inside and fast asleep with it in the kitchen.When she decided she wanted to go out to eviscerate a mouse or three, I put it into its new location. She's in there now, curled up and fast asleep.My only reservation is that, for some reason, there's a 'trench' about an inch across and deep running the entire length of the base inside. I tore up a side of the cardboard box in which it came and placed it over the entire inner base, and then put the dressing-gown on top; it seems to have worked thus far.All in all, Lady Arwen is happy which means I am. It may be pricey at £55, but I know it'll last for years and years.

This is an excellent cat shelter, I have a semi feral large cat who sleeps in it every night and during the day when it's raining, positioned on an angle towards the fence, his bedding stays dry and he is sheltered from wind and rain. Solid thick plastic will last probably forever. Highly recommend.

I like this product very much, and like it's sandy colour.We're just trying to get the cat used to using it, then We're going to fix a cat-flap in.It is completely waterproof, the only down side is, it's thinner than I thought.I was really looking for something Frost proof too. However, I've lined it with cardboard and I'm going to put some fleeces and a self heating pad in, which I'm hoping will do the trick.I would have given it full stars, it was just the thickness that stopped me.I still think it's the best option on the market and better than the wooden ones.

I received this cat den yesterday (on time) and got it ready for my cat today. I put a soft cosy lining in for him and he entered it immediately, curled up and went to sleep.I am keeping it on my balcony for when I am out and occasionally for when he doesn't come in when called at night.A very sturdy cat den and I am very pleased with this purchase. My cat loves it.

I bought two of these for my parents' indoor/outdoor cats. I also bought self-warning mats to made the inside a little cozier. Typically I would only put straw in an outside cat house, but given the shelter of the roof overhang and the fact that this is moulded from a single piece of plastic with no seams that may leak, I was less concerned about water getting in and freezing. Both cats LOVED them, and use them regularly. I think it makes them feel safe and also gives them excellent shelter from the elements. I know they're a little pricey, but given the construction and sturdiness, I really think they're excellent value for money.

I spent quite a lot of time researching shelters for my cat, as she insists on spending so much time outside, even in very cold winter weather. I eventually ordered this Kitty Cabin because it will be easy to keep clean. When it arrived I was delighted to see that it's excellent quality. Very sturdy, but also very stylish. Although it's made from moulded plastic, the finish makes it look like polished stone - absolutely thrilled. I also ordered some of the self-heating mats, which fit perfectly. Highly recommended.

I bought one for the Catio (indoor cat).Then a cat began visiting. I’m not sure if he has a home. But I got one for him which he loves. In fact he has a big house too, with smaller one inside.Then another cat started visiting so I bought her one.Mylar blanket. Straw. Heat reflective rug.Faced away from wind and rain.Fully recommended!
