Product description Neneh Cherry - Homebrew - CD .co.uk Ever since she appeared on Top Of The Pops heavily pregnant, to perform "Buffalo Stance", it's been obvious that Neneh Cherry would never choose to sacrifice her personal life--however intrusive or inconvenient--simply for the sake of her career. So neither the title nor the tone of her second album should come as any surprise: this is the work of a woman well-aware of her sexuality, yet grounded in a solid relationship ("Voluptuous", she boasts proudly, in "Sassy", "I made a choice to be monogamous"). It's a dichotomy best summed up in "Move With Me", with its wonderful assertion of independence and love ("I'm strong enough / To be weak in your arms"), but in fact, the highlights here are many: "Money Love", with its thrilling stop-start arrangement; "Trout", a sex education paean on which Cherry duets with R.E.M's Michael Stipe over thundering Led Zep-style drums; and "Somedays", which sets Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata to a skeletal drum loop and features the album's most soulful vocals. --Andrew McGuire

Simply Fantastic!!!
although not as well known as her eponymous first album, Homebrew is probably Neneh Cherry's best album to date. Mixing soul, hip-hop, folk, indie, rock and funk, it's a heady brew (pun intended!) which never fails to thrill. There's not one bad or dull track here (and how many albums can you really say that about?!), with standout tracks being "Money Love", "I Aint Gone Under Yet", "Buddy X" and, most of all, the superlative "Trout," featuring the distinctive vocals of .R.E M's Michael Stipe. This album could not be more highly recommended!!!

Terrific Album!!
What I love about this album is that it has a mixture of well above avaerage hip hop and rock content. The lyrics to each track is pretty good too. No doubt, this is one of my favourite albums. Overall, terrific production and Neneh Cherry was and still is a terrific role model for young teenage girls and that includes women of all ages too!!

Cherry Pie.
Just love this from Neneh. This is expressive, creative Jazz to my way of thinking from an artist with something to say and express. There's colour, texture, shape and space here and Neneh puts it together on a strikingly meaningful CD.

A timeless treasure
When Q magzine does those lists of the greatest albums of all time as they love to do, they're always more interesting for the ones they left off - Homebrew, as far as I'm aware is never there. Homebrew was an oddity even when it was released - underappreciated. Neneh was just doing her own thing and those of us who liked it, really liked it. Everything works on this album. The production, as the title suggests, is stripped back and more raw than raw like sushi. With the exception of possibly Marvin Gaye, this album is a personal statement from an artist at a very specific moment in her life. It's honest, sometimes paniful and always so unconcerned with fashion that it is eternally hip. Neneh, this is your masterpiece. Thanks a million.

Best Neneh Cherry Album
Having purchased all 3 of Neneh Cherry's albums which are all completely different. I have to say this is her best Album. It may not have sold as many as the other 2 but it's my favourite by far. Their are so many stand out tracks on this album such as the single Buddy X, Peace In Mind, Red Paint and Move With Me. Also look out for the duet with R.E.M's lead singer Michael Stipe on the track Trout. Buy this album because once you've listen to it about three times you won't stop listening to it!

落ち着いた渋い作品
R&B, HIP HOP、

OVERLOOKED TERRIFIC ARTIST THAT IS TOPS FOR LISTENING PLEASURE ! ! !
I would give this 10 stars if I could! This is one of my most favorite CD's and that is really saying something! Neneh has a great voice and her band is tops. All of the music on this CD is terrific. I play it over & over and do NOT get tired of it at all. I think she needs a lot more exposure for her music to get to the masses, because if you haven't heard her, get this one & go from there. She is a real rocker & rapper too - I love her - YOU GO GIRL ! ! ! ! !

Excellent album
I bought this album back in 1992 when "Trout", a duet with Michael Stipe was a hit on the alternative station here in San Diego, 91X. I wasn't at all prepared for the introspective lyrics, most of which have resonated through me to this day. I already owned her first album "Raw Like Sushi" and liked it, although I found it a bit, well precious for lack of a better term. On this album Neneh entered the realm of my favorite songwriter of all time, Joni Mitchell. For a serious music fan this album is a must have.

Nice
I purchased this cd for one song. I was surprised how much I like this cd. I really like 8 out of the 10 songs that are on it, and the other 2 are not bad either(the 1st two).I never heard of this artist before with the exception of one song. Very good cd for me.
