i have put the provided battery in the slot & it still does not power on, what could be wrong

While closing the lid of the device after the battery is replaced, please check the cap, it has got one small metal strip on one side, same way on the battery holder also have got one metal strip on one side. Both should come in to contact. you can close the cap with the metal strip on the same side where it is in the battery holder. if you close the cap the other way, The device will not work.

Has anyone bought this recently? Hows the review and experience?

Really bad experience. Conked off in a couple of weeks - the epilator head stopped rotating. Just one service center too far flung and no one to help via phone etc. I'd strongly advice against it.

Does it help for nose blackhead removal ?

Nope. May be the brush would help as a scrubber. This consumes a lot of battery.
