Magic: The GatheringFoundations - Play Booster Box

This is a very nice starter kit for two or more players, although the card pool in it is a bit on the thin side. It comes with several pre-made decks, two play boards that map out where cards go on the battlefield, and also has a physical rulebook, which is rare for MTG these days as Wizards has been fanatically pushing their online play platform (Arena) over paper Magic. For old fogies like me who don't play online MTG and prefer something tangible, this is great for teaching new players or getting your hands on a physical rulebook. There are several decks of varying colors, with some decent cards (but no really powerful rares). Still, for about $25 I feel like it was a good investment, just for the newer cards, rulebook and playing field boards. There's also room enough in the box to stash some more cards, tokens, etc. if you so desire. Recommended.

Bought to play with my wife and some friends. Was super easy to play and help teach them the rules of the game. Quality of the cards along with the box/counters was great. Was surprised with the variety of cards and colors offered in the box.

Great product for getting new people into mtg. Easy pickup and play themed decks. Great product to keep as a standalone unit for quick play. Only wish the cardboard playmats were a little better quality (paper easily rips on the game board if not handled correctly like folding it the wrong way).

This deck is very beginner friendly and attached are TWO step by step guides (for you and another player). In addition this product included 2 outlined play boards, two spin dials, a rule book, and other goodies.As someone who is just getting into Magic the Gathering - this product is outstanding!Regarding the price - the product is WELL WORTH THE VALUE! If you’re an experienced player and are looking for rare cards… I don’t believe I’d recommend this for you…The product was delivered right on schedule and with brand new SEALED packaging. Pulled some good cards. Box I damaged.

It arrived exactly as it was supposed to, perfect condition and all. My knock isn't to the seller but the maker: Wizards of the Coast. It's cool to a degree, but it's considered a beginner's box with no mythic rares AND no booster packs other than the listed jumpstart one's. OK, that end part doesn't sound so bad, does it? Except here you don't get randomized cards wherein luck is an element. No, you get predetermined cards that are always going to be the same no matter how many of these you might get. Because of what's here that's still cool for the price. I'm just saying, if you get say a dozen booster packs, you'll get a dozen DIFFERENT random selections of cards based heavily on luck. If you get a dozen of these, they'll all be exactly the same as the others.OK, to some that goes without saying. But again, this is billed by Wizards of the Coast as a beginner's box. So toss in some packs that are actually offering random selections and a bit of luck. In my overall review here as much negativity as I just spouted off, I still give it 4 out of 5 stars because it's priced right for what's offered.

Mtg has changed a lot but this set has really cool themes and cards to play with
