Great product, great app, and greater service by Amazon !
Great product. The Hue app is amazing. The overall system is very responsive even over the cloud. The pairing with the bridge is quick and easy.Just faced one issue with the connector. I ordered a B22 (Indian connector) but they shipped a E27 (Threaded connector). This would require an adapter to use in India. Also one of the two bulbs that I ordered started flickering and would not respond to the app. Reported to Amazon, got a replacement within a day. The defective component was picked up and replacement delivered in a day ! ! ! Great service by Amazon.

Want to use this with echo plus? Read this
For the product:Good:Provides dimmable support, you can set any level between 0 to 100Provides color changing support. Its the best smart light to start your smart home.Light is bright enough for a medium room.A very high quality productBad:When you physically switch of the button for the bulb, it doesnt retain the last color and dim level, it defaults to incandescent mode and 100 percent level.Using with echo plus:It connects easily without any issue. All the features of bulb are not available with echo plus. You can only change the brightness level, or can change the color(you have to say the predefined color name)You wont get music sync with echo plus, for that you will need hue hub. There are multiple apps for hue, which supports multiple functionality over the basic dimmable and color changing, but those premium features can only be unlocked with hue hub, they wont come with echo plus.

Best Smart lighting product
+ves:1. Philips Hue smart lighting system is supported by almost all Voice Assistants as well as IFTTT.2. These can be easily controlled even if you do not have a Voice assistant through mobile phones.3. Supports Dimmer switches and motion sensors.-ves:1. Biggest disadvantage for Indian users is that we have to face power cuts. Once there is a power cut all the LED bulbs will be reset and turned On, unless you are using UPS.2. One has to buy Hue bridge to use these bulbs or an Echo Plus which has an inbuilt bridge.3. The color Bulbs are too costly one can lit his/her whole house in cost of one Philips Hue color bulb.Bottom Line: If you are an enthusiast and like to experiment with such devices without thinking about the cost Or you want to have nice color/mood lighting in your house: Go for itElse you will have to wait till these products get cheaper.

Echo plus only gives you min functionality, needs hue brige for full effect.
The advertising is deceptive. You need a hue bridge to get anything useful done. I have an echo plus, which had zigbee controller too, but the hue app refuses to recognize it. So if you don't have hue brige, and just have echo plus, you can only turn your bulb on and off using voice, and change basic colors. If you want music integration, alarm integration, notification indication, or geo sync features, you need to buy the hue bridge. Why is the zigbee controller in echo plus not enough?Other than that, bulb is easy to install, the preset colors in Alexa app are nice.

WORTHLESS OLD AGE PRODUCT THAT NEEDS A BRIDGE STICK TO LEAN ON
priced very expensive over existing other brand models in the market. The product is over stated as it cannot function independently without a HUE BRIDGE. A Bridge costs twice the price of this bulb and without the hue bridge this bulb is basically of no use except plain lighting. Moreover, competitor brands are selling similar bulbs at half the price and have technologies that are not dependent on a bridge. A bridge seems to basically be a Wifi device, which in competititors like SYSKA is already fitted to the bulb whereas in Philips the device comes outside the bulb. This essentially means that the bulb by itself cannot connect to a smart home hub such as ALEXA. Contrary to this product, SYSKA bulbs do not need a bridge and can directly connect to WIFI. Kindly note that this bulb is a Generation 1 bulb and therefore is an OLD JUNKED PRODUCT. Philips is making a loot of public moneys and enriching themselves by selling outdated products like how IPhone does on its previous models. I got deceived on the description and ordered it, but found the product useless without expensive add ons. At the cost of 1 bulb and bridge, I can light up the entire house using Syska products. Please do not buy this product. Need any more guidance you can connect to me directly.

Better than any out there . If u have money go for it .EDIT
I got 4 hue colour bulbs for Rs1799 and one for Rs1590 . Inbetween march considering myself lucky now my amazon echo plus is happy . And i got it for a steal . Seriously if u have an echo plus then do consider buying it . But u can only change colours with echo plus no added functionality which u get with a hue hub .Its definitely better than Yeelight seriously better i own 3 yeelight i replaced all of it with philips hue . Must buyEDIT : I talked to philips they said default colour and last used setting resume after power on and off/powecut will be introduced later this year but have not provided a date .it will de done via firmware update .i am not sure if the firmware update will be to the bulb or to the philips hue hub

Very great light but expensive .
Great light but expensive. good brightness, great colours , smooth fade in and fade out. less heat emmission. waiting for Hue 3rd gen app for more features. Use this with IFTTT for more options. Hue app has very limited options as of now. there are ne animation features in the default app. you need to use hue labs or other 3rd party apps for animations. At present it cannot be synchronised with your TV.

Brilliant product, wrong bulb base
The product is brilliant. Colour temperature, quick response, good light intensity, soft colours and soft light, these are all the pros. No cons as of now. The only thing with the delivery that went wrong is that I had ordered this bulb after making sure that the bulb base is B22 (like most Indian houses have) but they sent the E27 (threads) bulb base. So I ordered an E27 to B22 converter. Eventually, I just replaced my holders to the E27 holders because I found out from the Philips store that they barely make these in B22.
