Update 8 june. I am on my third bottle, i subscribed. This product is a life saver for me, i can eat pasta, drink some milk... not excessive, but if i go out with friends i am not moping around anymore, and i can enjoy a normal dinner. May: I received no compensation for this review (how do people do that, I was not offered any freebies on amazon yet....) but I digress. Two years ago I was diagnosed with post-infectious syndrome, which can mean just about anything. It manifested itself as extreme exhaustion, food intolerances, muscle twitching, swollen lymph nodes, peripheral neuropathy, and just a generally miserable state all of a sudden. I had all tests known to mankind, to include CT scans and MRIs to rule out MS and other serious ailments. I tried (and keep trying) anything that I think might help. I am definitely on an ascending curve and feeling a lot better than when it all started, but I can trigger symptoms with food. I have an app which tells me the histamine content of foods, I tried acupuncture (it worked pretty well but I moved and can’t find a local practitioner), alpha lipoic acid for the neuropathy (works ok), B complex (no difference or made it worse) magnesium salt baths (maybe relaxing but that’s about it), astragalus, various tinctures and herbs (I guess mild benefit), cut all fermented foods, alcohol, coffee, and gluten (definite improvement), an acupressure mat (if you can stand the pain...) quercetin (hard to tell if it helped, so I guess not), infrared sauna (made it worse), anti-allergy and anti-histamine drops (helped and then did not help anymore)... which brings me to the similase GFCF. I am still not clear whether GFCF means the product is gluten and casein free, or whether it helps with gluten/casein free diets. I got it on 22 April, today is 5 May. Been taking two pills before every meal, so about three times/ day. I waited to make sure I’m not deluding myself, sometimes you get frantic hoping for a magic pill. They definitely work, I can eat a greater variety of foods and I don’t have the miserable symptoms I’d get after some meals (pain, extreme exhaustion, bad gut issues, itchiness, muscle twitches, etc). I’m still trying to eat reasonably healthy but I had oysters (because yes, as soon as I feel a little better what do I do? I go get OYSTERS, please don’t judge...) so anyway, I still have some residual numbness (need to order more ALA) but very mild, and my energy is way better. I hope you find this helpful and I hope the product helps you the way it helps me.

Keep this on hand for when I have occasional gluten or dairy. It helps digest those things I don’t tolerate well. It lessens the reactions to gluten and dairy for me.

Good product. Great for people with alpha gal. Reduces indigestion, but may cause excess gas.

I have used many brands of enzymes and not really happy with many of them. Either they were high with some levels and low on others, or they were missing the levels completely! I read a review outside of Amazon in one of the Gluten Intolerance Group newsletters and an article from a Auto immune doctor about Celiac disease which I have. The reviews were wonderful and said that this enzyme worked better then any. I thought well I guess I can try this one too see if it works. I decided to try it with my normal food routine and it worked fine. I decided to push the envelope and try a small amount of dairy and see how it goes. I normally cannot eat any dairy, just too many tummy issues. I took the pill and ate a small amount and hours later was still fine. I did this a total of 3 times so far with a total success! Now this does not mean I am going to drink a huge glass of milk by any means, but a small amount of cheese on something is not going to kill me after all :) If I had to give it a negative I guess it would be the price, but really I would pay double for an enzyme that worked so its ok. :) I have recommended this to my Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) members here in Seattle and have told many others about this product. When I do most have heard about it and heard the same reviews. This is a 5 star product in my eyes and yes I would recommend it to a friend. I love that Amazon has this on their Subscribe and Save program, I was able to sign up and am saving an extra 5% so even better!

This product works for my digestive issues.

Definitely helps with meals! They are easy to take. No taste. They help to digest proteins you may be sensitive to. I notice the difference when I don’t take them with certain meals.

This has changed my life. I take a dosage 10-30 minutes on an empty stomach before consuming gluten. The pills do not upset my stomach. I have been able to enjoy pizza and hamburgers without any digestive issues. I will ensure I have these pills stocked at home, work, and the car!

In the past 8 years - after learning I could no longer digest casein protein and the protein in gluten - I have tested at least 5 or 6 different digestive enzymes to allow me to consume some of my favorite foods. In the past 2 years, I have switched to Similase (I previously endorsed a different brand) because it's very effective and does NOT cause my stomach (and other digestive stuff) to be a mess the next day. Based on my own multiple tests - and then backed up by my brilliant doctor - the effectiveness of these appear to be increased by combining with HCL capsules (don't take these if you have a problem with acid). Keep in mind I am not celiac - I cannot digest these proteins and consequently feel like crap (mentally and physically) for 36 hours afterwards. If I take 10 of the Similase capsules - yes 10 - along with 10 HCL capsules 1/2 hour before eating a small amount of gluten and dairy (like a small pizza), I have nearly zero effects that evening and the next day. That has not been the case with any other enzymes I have taken in the past 8 years. For me, this is a miracle, and without them I would suffer for 2 days.
