Use very coarse grounds
This is pretty straightforward to use. I used coarse ground coffee but still ended up with a lot of grounds in my cold brew. I think I will need to use even coarser grounds next time and strain any finer coffee out before brewing.

Stay-Fresh Pitcher Works Well For Me As A Single Person
Airtight coffee pitcher has upped my cold brew game and allows me to store my cold brew coffee in fridge for several days (max of 5 days so far) without changing or losing flavor. No more waste for me!!As a single person, I have a problem with any cold beverages I make going bad before I finish them - lemonade, Hawaiian Punch :), teas, etc., thus I hesitated about getting a 1 1/2-quart pitcher to make iced coffees for myself. After having some iced cold brew from a store-bought container while camping, I decided I had to give some sort of home cold brew kit a try because I loved it but just can't afford what it costs in stores and at my local latte stands, so I was excited to order and use this.I see a lot of good explanatory reviews, so I'll skip that part and comment that the first time I used the pitcher I followed the instructions explicitly and made a cold brew that was very good but was a bit too strong for me as I like a weaker coffee blend. The second time I used my pitcher I used just over half of the recommended amount of coffee, though grinding to specifications, put it in the fridge at 8 p.m. and drank at 1 p.m. the next day, added the dab of cream - and it was absolutely delicious to me!! And, due to the airtight pitcher, stayed that way for several days.I'm rating 5 stars as the Simple Modern Hugo airtight pitcher is what allows me to keep the cold brew in my fridge - so far 5 days is my top amount of time it's been in there and stayed perfect tasting. I feel a tiny bit smug when I pour myself a glass, add a touch of cream, and drink up. :)There's a lot of pitchers out there that you can make cold brew in. This is the perfect one if you want to have a mess-free and longer freshness experience with your cold brew coffee.

If You Like Cold Brew You Will Love This Pitcher
I love iced coffee. I have some every morning before work to jump start my day. I know there are now iced coffee brewers on the market, but as of now, I have been making it by brewing hot coffee and loading it up with ice. I know I am missing out on a lot of the coffee's flavor because it gets watered down so much. Because of this, I bought this SimpleModern Cold Brew coffee maker. Now I can grind my own coffee, put in the metal filter, and let it steep for 18 hours or so. I can tell you that I am tasting flavors now that I really had not tasted before. Each morning when I add ice it no longer tastes like watered down coffee. My mornings were pretty tasty before, but are far and away more delicious now.The filter is easily removeable, the cold brew will last multiple days in the fridge if kept cold, and it is dishwasher safe (top rack). Highly recommend!!!!!Simple Modern Hugo Cold Brew Coffee Maker | Airtight Pitcher with Fine Mesh Filter | Iced Tea Brewer | 1.5 Quart

Uses a lot of coffee, but tastes great
I did enjoy the cold-brewed coffee that came from this. It is delicious and easy to make (if you have 18 hours to kill), but I can make nearly as good iced-coffee in minutes with a much cheaper maker that my ex-wife got me years ago; it uses half the coffee grounds and tastes good as well.I followed the directions and measured out 140 grams of whole beans and set my grinder for coarse grounds, then I poured the result into the filter and it went way over the mark on the filter. I then dug out several scoops of grounds to match the line on the filter, which corresponds to the water level once you add water. If I use this again (not sure at this point), I will only fill it to the line on the filter and not measure it with my scale. I waited the 18 hours and the result is delicious, but the amount of coffee I used was a lot and coffee has become almost as expensive as gold, so I might go back to the iced-coffee maker to save money and time.If you are set on making cold-brewed coffee, this might be the product for you, but if you want to save money for a drink that is almost as good, look for an iced-coffee maker that has you take hot coffee and then pour it into a frozen container that cools it down in minutes (not hours).

Great Cold Brew Maker
In our house we love cold brew, and this is the perfect maker. It makes a quart and a half of excellent cold brew coffee with the lease effort possible. I’m a total coffee nerd, so I weigh and grind my coffee beans exactly when I need them. For this cold brew maker I’m grinding them just a little bit finer than I did for my old cold brewer because it has a really fine mesh in the stainless steel infuser. This allows more flavor extraction in the same amount of time.Making coffee in this thing could not be easier. I just weigh the beans and dump them into the hopper of my conical grinder. Once the grounds are ready, I can just dump them from the hopper into the diffuser. As with anything like this, you have to pour the water fairly slowly into the diffuser, but it takes maybe thirty seconds to fill the carafe. Then you just pop it in the 'fridge and wait until tomorrow.Cleanup is also really easy. Once the coffee is sufficiently extracted, you just pull out the diffuser, let it drain for a few minutes - I park it in a clean coffee mug - then tap out the grounds into a trash bag. Then you just rinse the diffuser and let it dry.The coffee is smooth and rich, with no bitterness. I drink it black over ice, and my wife likes it with some creamer. She also is happy to pop a cup of the cold brew into the microwave, and I will admit that it is good that way, but being a coffee nerd I prefer pour-over or French press when I’m drinking it hot.

Hugo Cold Brew Coffee Maker
I love this cold brew maker! It's a good option for both beginners and seasoned coffee enthusiasts. Simply weigh your grounds, pop them in, and let it steep overnight in the refrigerator for a smooth brew! I did notice grounds at the bottom. But you can easily filter again or adjust your grind size to a more coarse setting. An easy to use coffee tool for cold brew lovers!
