Yasutomo NP56J Nori Paste, 10-Ounce , White

I really like this glue. I wish I had known about it years ago! I do paper arts and I’ve mostly used PVA glue in the past. I’m trying to reduce plastics in my work so I thought to give this glue a try. I had a whole gallon of PVA glue go moldy on me too and thought it was time to try something else. The nori glue isn’t as “sticky” as PVA but for paper it works just fine. I haven’t had any issue with the paper not adhering or falling off later — in fact I would say the bond between two pieces of paper is permanent once dried. It takes about the same time to dry as PVA but the working time is much longer. I’ve noticed that PVA once half-dry you can’t work with it anymore— any pushing or pulling will damage the paper. With PVA your working time is over even when the piece is still drying. But the nori glue even once it’s half dry there’s still a chance you can reposition or remove. I also like that it’s not so sticky. I don’t feel like my hands get gluey and attract dirt and everything sticks to them.It feels very smooth and natural almost like aloe Vera gel. Its very easy to apply with a brush and there isn’t any of the tugging and sticking that sometimes happens with pva. The paper also doesn’t seam to warp at all with the nori glue— the paper barely takes on any of the moisture from the glue. I use 180lb paper and with the pva there is usually some warping or bubbling even if minimal, but I haven’t had any of that with this glue. It’s also so easy to clean up. Just a bit of water does the trick on any wet or dry glue. I use a paint brush to apply it and it’s still in great condition. I’m very happy with it and I’m sure I’ll order some again.

I just happened to see this in the similar items when I was looking for YES Paste. Which I love. I decided to try this because of the price point. I’m so happy I did. Nori spreads well, has the consistency of margarine and I like that you can wipe it with a wet rag to clean up messy applications. I liked it so much I bought another jar. Perfect for collage making and a little goes a long way.

If you want a paste that does not dry immediately and gives you time to adjust papar being pasted. This is it. It is water soluble so the tiniest bit of water will soften the paste for removal. As a quick repair I have tried several kinds paste AND glue and none would reattack loose wall paper. With a little water added to this paste (mix well) I spread a layer over the back of the paper and applied to the wall as you would any other wall paper. That was six weeks ago. None of it has come loose. All the other glues lasted a couple days. I have not had to remove any of the paper for any reason so do not know.if there are any problems. Remember the paste is water soluble. That should make it easy to release the paper.

I was absolutely loving this paste -- it was exactly what I needed, but the fragrance, which seemed light at first, became too much to take (I am highly sensitive to fragrance). I still give it four stars, because it is a wonderful product otherwise.

The media could not be loaded.  I painted this 15x22 inch painting of a deer in my art class and left it for my instructor to demonstrate how to remove a painting from the board when you staple it instead of tape the edges. She ended up tearing my painting and when I returned she had it laid out for display. When I looked at it I had no idea it had been torn. Then she told me it had been torn and showed me a bottle of this that she used to repair it. I ordered it that day because has she not told me, I would not have known for a long time. Especially not just looking at it. I had to flip it over to see where the damage was caused. I keep this handy just in case because mistakes happen. I'm not even mad that she tore it because I've torn things before and just had to throw them out so I really learned a lot with her mistake.

That’s what I used it for. I made my own stencil butter with a bit of mica and a little of this, sooooo good. You can make glitter paste too. It works just like the brands I’ve ordered from if not butter, I mean, better❤️

I'm a professional collage artist and this stuff is the best!! Easy to use, spreadable, doesn't wrinkle paper, dries flat and smooth, layers well, you only need a small amount to spread thinly, and cleans up with water. You can top it with acrylic paints or matte medium (its water based so anything adheres to the top). I recommend a topcoat of some sort as a final sealer, but I love this paste! Also, no smell or chemicals. All my professional artist friends love this paste! If you've used YES paste, this is like a thinner and more spreadable version - trumps YES paste any day!
