We bought 225 mismatched china plates from thrift stores and yes, we needed to test all of them for lead. Fortunately only one, which was a commemorative plate, had lead on it.The result is immediate and obviously red. If you test a set of grandma’s plates, you may microanalyze “is this red orange actually red” but know if there is actually lead, it will be immediate and very bright.I am happy with this product and feel comfortable now serving guests on our plates!
