The pocket magnifying glass with the bright LED light is fantastic! I have vision problems, and even with glasses I frequently have trouble reading menus, small print, bills, theatre programs, etc. This has solved all of those problems. I probably wouldn't use it to read a book, since the glass is not large, but it is perfect for everything else, and the light is also very useful. The glass is distortion free, and makes such a big difference in the size of letters and numbers that you are reading. It fits in my pocketbook very easily and does not take up a lot of room. If you don't want the light to shine, simply don't slide the lens out of the covering to the full extent. The lens (magnifying glass) slides into the compartment very easily, and is thereby protected from scratch marks. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I received it promptly too! I just purchased this item a second time it is so good, figuring it will come in handy to have one next to the computer at all times, and the other one in my pocketbook. I also wanted to add that it is great at reading small print on anything, so it comes in really handy for reading prescription bottles too.

This was a gift for my sister whose eyesight is deteriorating due to a disease. She carries a small magnifier with her to read small print and in dimly lit restaurants to read menus. This is so much better than the unlit magnifier. It's small enough to not take up much room in her purse and very lightweight too. While the magnification is not overly powerful it is strong enough for her to read ingredient labels in stores. The package arrived in good shape and on time.

Very practical and reliable. LED light is a plus. Very useful if one carries it around. Batteries access is somewhat cumbersome. There should be instructions for the polarity of the batteries. Just a piece of paper with a sketch in the box would suffice.
