okay headphones...
These headphones are good for the $52 price. This is just my experience with these! Electronics are hit and miss.Maybe these work and are amazing for someone else; every products' quality varies.Cons: you have to press your mouth right up onto the mic for other players to hear your voicethe sound is not surround sound as stated via items description on Amazon or on Rocketfish's website.the sound isn't that high on video games(call of duty) I have it raised to it's highest and its still not enough to my liking(maybe to others')Pros: great feel and overall textural appearance.very comfortable; they don't hurt after wearing for more than three hoursgreat to listen to music on perfect sound

I know good headphones when I see them. These are very good. But not great.
Here is the pair of headphones I've gotten used to using over the past year or two: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR7506-Professional-Diaphragm-Headphone/dp/B000AJIF4EI make and produce music, so I've had very extensive use with those biggies up there for over a year. At least an hour or two every day, genreally more. Needless to say I've gotten used to them, and they've become my standard. Those have a very even and realistic sound, so they're trusted by a lot of studio professionals to mix music. But I wanted something aimed at gaming, and I also wanted a headset closer to what regular people use, so I got these. (I got them used for $20 from 5-star gaming.)The very fist thing I noticed was how comfortable these are. I have decently big ears, so not all headphones feel good on me, but I could wear these all day. It's not quite on the level of comfortableness as my studio headphones, but these are very soft and comfy. It's also very adjustable in size, and the ears can retract into the headphones to make it smaller. Great for making it portable. They're also very light. As for the sound quality, it's not half as good as the studio headphones I've gotten used to, which is to be expected. All in all, these are fine headphones. My one major complaint, though, is that the bass tends to muddy everything up, even on its lowest setting. I listened to one of my own songs, and where there was supposed to be a low buzz sound, it was a very muddy, smooth low sound that you could barely recognize. Other headphone's I've used did not do this to my song. The bass response is technically very nice, but I wish you could set it even lower than its lowest setting. I do not feel that most people will even notice this, but it did annoy me. Nonetheless, these do sound good and I do use these for everyday listening amidst its issue with its bass end. (I think most headphones in this price range will have this issue, though, so it's not really a huge deal.)Anyway, that's not really the reason you'd buy this or not, though. It's that it will work on the PC, Xbox and PS3. I am a PC gamer, but I do follow a few online games on the Xbox, so it's nice to be able to do that too. Plus, the fact that you can put the microphone on either side, or not use it at all, is very nice. These can double as regular headsets to listen to while I'm out and about.Setting it up was a bit tricky, though. It's not as simple as plug-'n-play. If I didn't have the manual, I'd still probably be trying to set them up. But lucky for me there was a manual, so it's all good.Overall, for what I paid ($20), I have no complaints. If I had to pay $50, I'd still be okay with it. These are worth $50. But hey, save money where you can, amirite?I intend to update this review eventually as I use them a bit more, and I might make a video showing them off.

Peerless Quality on Every Level
These headphones are the absolute best that you will find anywhere. Rocketfish could sell these at a vastly increased rate and it would yet be a fair sale. I bought these headphones 2 years ago and have used them nigh every single day since and their performance has been superb. Let's run through the list.-ADJUSTABLE HEAD-BAND has enough friction to maintain your preferred setting-SOUND-CANCELLATION is very effective; they're edging on ear-muffs-SOUND QUALITY is excellent; when listening to music, you get a clear sound of every separate part/instrument in a track-LIFE SPAN is so far extended beyond what I have experienced from the majority of headphone brands. Most headphones I have bought die within 3 months or so of purchase. Granted, I used them with extreme frequency, but just so do I use the Rocketfish Universal Wired Headset and it has seen the rise and fall of multiple incarnations of iPhone. This product did not begin to show deterioration at all for about a year. At the year mark, the head-band did begin to lose friction. At a year and a half, the right phone started losing sound unless the audio cable was aligned in a particular way, though this was initially very rare. At 2 years, the right phone often lost sound unless the audio cable and head band were very precisely adjusted and the part of the head-band that holds the right phone in the headset broke. All of this said, this was only after daily use for an extended period. When I bought these headphones, they were listed here for $30. Now that the price has risen, I will still probably buy another pair. For the quality and endurance this headset demonstrates, it is a brilliant investment. I have used these headphones at home, in public transit, and even and especially while exercising and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My "In Between" Headset
Bought these and they were DOA. The mic worked but on the other end, it is extremely echoy. I fiddled around with this for a while and managed to hear the sound for a little bit and the sound quality was worse than expected. I expected poor sound quality because it was a cheap headset but it was worse than anticipated. 2 stars because if it does work for you, it essentially does what it says and is cheap. I called this my "In Between" headset because the only reason i bought this one is to have something that works until I could buy a more high end headset. I would suggest the Tritton AX 180 headset though. You can find them for around $50 to $60, have great sound, and are compatible with PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 (which is important to me because otherwise I would have to buy 3 headsets.) I hope this review helped prospective buyers.
