Buy it ! This camera at this price cannot be beaten. I have 3 other V3's and this new version is fantastic. Extra Plus is the Spotlight which can be turned on or off or to go on with motion. Set up took 1 minute. Crystal clear picture even on 2.5. The motion detection is fantastic. Using the SD card for storage. Buy it. Highly recommended

We own a couple of WyzeCam v2 cameras in the past and the huge selling point for these cameras was their no-subscription and affordable price point feature. The WyzeCam v4 is a huge upgrade for us with the color night vision functionality which is AMAZING! we used it indoors against a window, so we couldn't enable the spotlight or infrared night time vision turned on. But with the color night vision, everything was clear and with color. Events were triggered quicker and the UI was better with V4. It has a mic and speaker for two-way communication as well as recording which is really handy. Other features that have become standard such as detection zone and sensitivity levels are present. The build of the camera seems pretty solid and reasonable for its price point. The housing and lens cover is made out of plastic. So expect the lens plastic to get scratches easily. It said it can be used outdoors as well and from what I can tell, the all the connection points and slots are covered well to prevent moisture entry. Despite being marketed as no-subscription needed, it does have a optional paid service which certain useful but not non-breaking features are locked behind e.g. continuous event triggering. Without a pro tier, there is a event cool down before the next event trigger can take place again. The subscription also gives cloud storage for your recordings but If you do not want to pay, you will have to install a microSD card to store the recordings. I recommend getting microSDs that are meant for high read and write usage. Overall, this device is really worth it for basic security monitoring.

Unless you're going to pay the subscription, this can't do most of what it's advertised as being able to do. You want it record video when motion is detected? That requires a monthly subscription fee, even if you are recording to your own SD card. You want the motion sensor to alert you when your car pulls into the garage, or if your garage door opens? Paywall. You want it to alert you to people, pets or packages? Paywall. You want it to alert you to other motion? That it can do, but the only option to adjust it is a slider that sets the sensitivity. And it appears to ignore the types of motion listed above if this is the only thing you're using. If I set the slider to 36 it was alerting me every few seconds, it's overly sensitive. If I set it to 36 it either couldn't tell that my car was pulling in or out, or it was hiding it because I didn't sign up for the subscription, I'm not sure which, but it wasn't sensitive enough to give any alerts. It's also advertised as working with google home, but I'd call "working" to be a generous description. The camera does appear in the app, and will show live video once in a while, but in my two days of testing, it's provided live video 3 times out of a dozen that I've attempted to use it. The rest of the time it just provides a still photo that was several hours old. In 2001, I had a webcam that could record when it detected motion. 24 years later, that same feature now requires a subscription. Which means a product made in 2025 is worse than one made in 2001. Who'd have thought the world would move this far backwards?
