Great smaller size with lots of shapes including triangles
I ordered this set of micro magnetic tiles for two reasons: first, my other set had no triangles, just squares and rectangles and I wanted more variety for my kids; second, the smaller size means younger kids can play too because the sizes of these pieces is more compatible for their smaller hands. I really like the colors of the pieces. There were 2 large clear rectangles which make excellent bases for projects. Lots of smaller more colorful pieces allow us to do tons of creative play. We are not just constructing square buildings. We can make mosaic art, and construct 'marble run' type runways using cookie sheets, and so much more. Another side bonus that I didn't realize - these pieces are smaller and less noisy when they click together. They are also easier for little ones to separate and re-stick. Great value!

Interesting Idea, but Not as Great in Execution
We have a very large collection of magnetic tile products, and I'm always looking for interesting new ideas. I was intrigued by these, but the execution failed to impress. I love the idea of half-scale pieces to add details to existing structures or create new creations like tiny furniture for dollhouses. I was curious how the magnets were executed on these to allow them to work on either side of the tile. These use rotating magnets, similar to how the Magna-tiles Qubix works. This is unfortunate for three reasons: (1) the magnets are necessarily smaller and less strong, (2) you can't reliably connect two stacks of these during cleanup or two built shapes during building (since the magnet position is not going to be able to change once a piece is in a structure or stack already), and (3) these don't form a reliable lattice making it difficult to build something sturdy with JUST the micro blocks. These work fine if attached to the big pieces for detail but they don't work well to build exclusively. Core structures like cubes or tetrahedrons collapse when attempted from these blocks. Thus, I disagree with the idea that these could function as a smaller magnetic tile set for travel. They cannot (though other brands sell smaller-scale tiles that work better but aren't compatible with large tiles). These really can only be reliably used to enhance full-piece structures. The other issues that make me take a star are not unique to this set but generally make Magna-Tiles less desirable than other flagship brands like Connetix: (1) the colors don't look great, especially the washed-out purple, (2) the inner lattice adds unnecessary bulk (especially on these little pieces), meaning taller structures are less stable, (3) the color selection seems random rather than well-considered - not every piece comes in every color, and there isn't an equal number of pieces in each color that does get represented, (4) not enough right triangles, which are always the most useful piece a reinforcement for structures.Basically, I'm hoping that one of the other brands does a better job with this idea in the future.

Awesome set, but the microMAGS magnets are pretty weak/weird.
I ordered these for my 1, 3, and 5 year olds to play with, and immediately when these were delivered there were a couple apparent things.Positives:1) The microMAGS are incredibly cute and so fun, absolutely love the miniaturized design of those versus the larger ones!2) This set comes with so many magna-tiles, it's a great way to start off if you're new to magna-tiles with a lot of pieces, and it's a great addition to a collection if you need even more magna-tiles like we did!Negatives:1) The magnets on the microMAGS are MUCH weaker and very different than the normal sized magna-tiles. Like, you can't even take 6 square microMAGS and make a box out of them, it just can't do it. The magnets don't really hold it in place or some sides do but other sides don't, they're just really really weird.2) The magnets in the microMAGS are so weird, that you can't even just make a stack of square pieces. Legitimately, you can stack like 2 or 3, but then if you try to add more sometimes you have to turn the square around for it to attach, or if you try to attach a collection of a couple square microMAGS to another collection of square microMAGS, you just can't do it, the magnets repel each other, unlike the regular magna-tiles which can do this easily. All in all, the microMAGS are super cute but ultimately disappointing for us. I believe either they're designed very poorly, or they were designed to only be an accessory for the larger magna-tiles and aren't actually supposed to be used to make smaller things independently of the larger magna-tiles.Overall I still give this an 8/10, mostly recommend, it's a great purchase overall and is still fun, the microMAGS were honestly pretty disappointing and we're at the point now where we probably won't buy microMAGS sets in the future and will stick to the larger ones because they're much more fun and connect way easier and don't have the same issues the microMAGS do.

Can’t go wrong!
These tiles are fun for both kids and adults! They are study, beautiful colors and click together very nicely. My kids love making both building and car tracks out of these. They are pricey but high quality

Perfect Addition!
We have a good collection of the regular size magna-tiles and have always been satisfied with its durability and hours of fun it brings. Getting this Micro size kit turns out to be just as good as the regular sized tiles! It was a great addition to our sets and that more shapes can be built. Build quality is just as good and colors are just as bright. Might i even say that its more portable now? I wish it came with a small case to carry it around. Another great set as a keeper! I have tried other magnetic tiles, but nothing compares to the original.
