Better than the competition
Having purchased another big name docking station that failed miserably to connect to my lap top , to charge it or pass data , and then having to fight to get my money back, I gulped at the thought of buying essentially the same thing from Anker. They aren’t cheap but buying this one which at its public price was cheaper than the big named discounted price was still worrying for a second time.Luckily I had an old Anker simple multi USB adaptor and I was able to fix it to the USB port on my laptop to find that it connected fine and it wasn’t the fault of my brand new laptop. So still worried I took the plunge and purchased this docking station. This unit was smaller than the last but looked way more professional, it had no big bulky box on its power lead and the outlets were better placed. It neatly stands upright so saves room and it has LIGHTS and power outage guages. Here goes .It powered up and the online instructions though far from great assisted. Straight off the bat everything worked, all my peripherals plugged straight in and worked. The lap top charged by the unit without the lap tops bulky lead seamlessly . Two gripes 1. Like all these units for me it lacked enough USB connections but routing my other Anker powered USB adaptor through one of its ports solved that. 2. It remarkably didn’t come with a usb C to C lead which luckily I had. If not for those two points this would be 5* I’m no tech guru so working easily was paramount and this seems to .

Great Docking Station, But HDMI Could Be Better
I really like this Anker Prime 14-in-1 Docking Station. It’s compact, stylish, and doesn’t take up much space, which is great for my setup. The display screen is a nice touch, showing power distribution and connected devices at a glance. It also has plenty of ports, and some can even charge at 100W, which is handy for powering my laptop and other devices. You can also set custom power distribution for your charging devices, but you need to download the Dock Manager software to do this. It’s a useful feature, but it would have been nice if it could be adjusted directly from the dock itself. The biggest downside is that the HDMI ports are only HDMI 2.0. That means a max refresh rate of 144Hz, which is disappointing since my monitors support 180Hz. It would have been great to have HDMI 2.1 or at least some DisplayPort connections. It does support dual 4K at 60Hz, but keep in mind that your laptop needs DP 1.4 with DSC 1:3 for that. If you’re on Mac, it’ll only do dual 4K at 30Hz.Overall, I’m happy with it, but since this is one of Anker’s newer docking stations, I would have expected more up-to-date display connections. If it had HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort, it would be perfect!

Excellent hub - would recommend
I was cagey about buying a hub this expensive.Would it run my external hard river and monitor? How would it play with my USB-A hub?Well, it’s pretty good.I am pleased with what it does. The only disappointment is that my monitor still needs to use one of the thunderbolt ports on my MBP M1 2020. It is quite old and runs off a thunderbolt to DVI adapter. So, it’s a bit weird but I didn’t really want to buy a new monitor just to use the hub’s hdmi ports.Besides that, it has really tidied up my desk and my work flow.Would recommend.
