The Cable Works!
We had temporarily removed an iMac from its normal place in order to do some room renovation. The external hard drive went with the iMac. But, when we reassembled the iMac and its various peripherals, somehow the original power supply cord for the hard drive was missing. We hunted everywhere but never found it, and that started a hunt for a replacement power supply. Thanks to Amazon's excellent descriptors we found the model that matched the model and serial number for our drive (they are not standardized, even within the company), purchased it and it's been working just fine ever since. Just shows you how critical good product information is!!!

Works for WD10000H1U
Like many, I thought my Western Digital was toast. How could it be as something simple as the power supply needing to be replaced. Well, it works just fine with my 1TB WD10000H1U. The old power supply was listed in the description of the PWR+ as S018BU120050. I also ordered a new mini-b cable USB 2.0 to make sure it wasn't the usb cable going bad to be sure. Hope this confirms that it works for this version of WD external hard drive. So far, so good!

Great AC Adapter
My WD Book external drive ac adapter cord went bad and I did research for a new ac adapter cord for I didn't want one like the one that went bad.This ac adapter cord works great, The design is so much better, it has a blue light that lets you know its on, The base of the plug is so much more easy to plug in & unplug, which only takes one hand. I am thinking about buying another one for my other WD Book. I am very pleased with this product. Allen M

Worked 15 Months: Update
Update: I deleted my original review. The original one I bought died after 15 months. But being within the 24 month warranty the company replaced it free of charge. Very happy with the response and action from the company.

Did the job
Purchased to power my WD 12 Tb desktop drive. Original adapter had been misplaced. Delivered promptly. Worked exactly as advertised and continues to do so. What more can one say about an AC adapter. Hardly rocket science.
