This amp is powerful. It actually pushes what it claims. I had some old ds18 4 ohm bullet 6.5s (2 speakers)I wired them 2 ohm then bridged the amp cranked the gain up within 2 minutes they let all the smoke out lol. The frequency knob actually does something on this amp like it will make midbass speaker have a tick to them or can sound somewhat like it's on full setting. My experience with cheaper amps like this that knob usually does basically nothing. I will definitely be buying more stinger products. i have this amp running 2 ds18 6.5 loudspeakers and 2 skar horn tweeters. The amp is crystal clear sound. This amp is comparable to my crescendo 800x4 on sound quality obviously crescendo is a little more powerful but the sound quality from this stinger is awesome.ive had this amp play at full tilt for 45 minutes with a 14.1 battery voltage and it doesn't get warm at all stay basically cold.

I've owned several amps over the years.. Fosgate, MTX, Alpine, Kenwood etc etc. & even cheaper ones like Dual, Pyle, Jenson etc..' feeding woofers from sizes 15's, 12's,10's.. Pushing Multiple subs. That said, yes.. I've had my fair share of playtime with amps to know a few things about them. This little Stinger amp is a solid banger. Feels good in the hand, has some heft to it. The finish glossy not matte & branding "logo" isn't obnoxious... Kinda gives it an "ol skool" visual feel to it.. Fitting for a brand that's been in the game many years. To hold it in your hands, it feels quality.. Much like an older Fosgate punch amp...hefty. It doesn't feel cheap. All connection points seem solid. Screws are smooth, Allen keys come with it for post screws As for crossover ease of use. It's pretty standard, "Ron Popeil" (set it & forget it).. The bass knob is nice. Not to big or small, not plasticy & cheap feeling. You'll need to put it together if you want to use the mounting plate, if not.. It would integrate into a switchboard or dash slot very nicely or can be easily hidden. The amount of sound this Stinger can power for such a compact unit is pretty impressive. Really good signal from amp to woofer. Currently I pushing a DS18 ZR8.2D Elite Z... BUT I had it also hooked up to an NVX 8V3. Both subs are duel 2ohm & have wired to 4ohm in both cases.. I'm pretty impressed with how hard both subs hit with this little amp at just 4ohm.. Especially for only pushing a single 8 & how well the amp is feeding them. To be blunt, you wouldn't think it's only pushing an single 8in sub.. I'm going to hook it up to my set of Kappa 10's set at 2ohm & see what this lil banger can do. If it pushes them like I'm hoping it can, I'm going to wire them to 1ohm & see if the power ratings translate to woofers not just specs. So far it can push deep long rumble bass & also be tuned up to around 80Hz to cover the bass spectrum strong & hard.. no crackle or distortion. (provided its properly tuned).. Being it's a marine amp meant be splashed at (I also got it cuz it's white not just another black amp) so it's "water-proofed" which is coincidentally a nice touch being I live in the PNW & things stay pretty damp for long periods & all that moisture in the air can mess with electronic things.. I have no doubt if this Brand keeps putting out quality like they have with this amp series.. These things could get really popular.
