I can’t say enough good things, this book is so relevant and has so much more info that’s better and current and as a makeup lover I appreciate the insight, tips, product comparisons and detailed info w great pics, I keep trying to buy more of these as gifts bc it’s such a better book

I wanted to learn more about the make up products, what would be the best choices and what's not the best, this book will give u the starting basics on which brush u use to what is good for ur skin

J'appréhendais à l'idée de l'acheter (je n'avais, jamais osé lire d'ouvrage en anglais). Cet ouvrage à usage semi-professionnel, est rédigé dans un anglais très accessible. Le vocabulaire est simple, le choix des photographies est pertinent.Tout y est traité, du kit sourcil, en passant par l'usage des différents pinceaux de maquillage et la protection solaire. Je n'avais pas vraiment lu le descriptif sur amazon.fr et j'ai été ravie de voir qu'une partie de l'ouvrage était consacré au traitement de la chevelure.Je n'ai pas été déçue. Je craignais de tomber sur une publicité redondante des produits de la marque sephora, une sorte de manuel de vente pour les employées de la marque. Mais pas du tout. Toutes les marques vendues par l'enseigne y sont représentées.Je voulais absolument connaître le point de vue de l'enseigne sur les différentes questions traitées. Aucun sujet n'est en reste : la cigarette, les produits favorisants les irruptions acnéiques. Les types de peaux : matures, noires, peau de blonde, de brune...Ce livre en papier glacé est fait pour durer. N'hésitez plus !

I was really looking forward to receiving this book, but after a quick read I was sadly disappointed with its contents. There is nothing in this book that merits anything in the way of plaudits: The information given is obvious and must already be known to virtually anyone with even a passing interest in cosmetics and their successful application. The book is then needlessly padded out with boring details about 'a day in the life' of various people involved in the beauty industry. Really, who gives a stuff about their yoga classes and macrobiotic diets? Certainly not me. Frankly, the best thing about it is the beautiful cover photograph, everything else is just a big yawn.
