Data Structures and Algorithms Made Easy in Java

We all need this!
I am studying computer science engineering at NIT Trichy and at the end of my Data structures and Algorithms course. It was referred by my seniors who prepared this book for their course and campus placements. With curiosity, I bought this book. I realized right away that this book is one of the best book to get concepts clear with clear-cut explanations. The main difference between this book and other books is that the explanations are so clear, I can honestly say it has been relatively easy to learn. I haven't struggled at all. The author takes a very clean approach, only focusing on the subject of algorithms and data structures. The concept of data structures and algorithms does not care about languages. He also criticizes the current trend of mixing "software engineering" and "object oriented concepts" in with this subject. His goal was to create the most easily understood book ever written on data structures and algorithms. I would say he hit his mark dead-on!The only thing missing from the book is exercises and glossary. There are none (at least not in the current edition).I posted few questions on publisher's site: CareerMonk.com and the replies were really fast. We can find out the new questions by checking the publisher's Website. The author has given us a real gem, and for that I am grateful.I also saw many posts about the achievements of this book. It is very good to see that an Indian authored books were being used as reference books, translated to different languages. Till now, we have seen only the reverse case. It is a great achievement.Note: I bought both Java and C editions and hence copying the reviews to both versions. Also, I would say one version is enough. Do not buy both.

Nice book on DSA
Very nice book. It contains many questions on each topic. The explanation for hard problem could have been better. But still a good for strengthening your knowledge on DSA.

Highly recommend Book for DSA
This is a good for DSA with Java the content in it is written in understandable and in easy English language. This book contains the content from basic to advanced level with good examples. You may buy it. But I'm disappointed with the delivery experience. The was delivered too late and the delivery person was so rude. He just asked the otp without delivering my product.

Quite a few printing/typing errors that can be overwhelming and confusing for a beginner.
I'll keep this review concise. I'm not reviewing the C version of this book and this review is exclusively for the second edition of this book as things might have changed later.Amazon Delivery:The book arrived in a perfect condition but the delivery took a long time (2+ weeks from order). Lucky for me I had time to prepare even after such a late delivery.Book Pros:- Concise book. Good enough for making you grasp the concept within a few pages. Excellent for purposes when you don't have time to go through books like Cormen, Klienberg etc and still wan't to learn about algorithms by applying as less brain as possible.- Plethora of problems for each algorithm and their applications.- Well documented and understandable code with pictorial diagrams and test cases.- Good set of interview questions.Cons:- Quite a few typing errors. Eg: Some algorithms based on other algos are simply copied without changing for the specific use.- Some pictures have incorrect data. For example, '3' is printed instead of '30' in a tree node.- Some parts are too concise to be properly understandable.Best uses:- Crash courses and last minute studying. Not suitable if you wan't to go in depth of each and every concept.- Quick references for any algorithm.- Lots of solved problems to help you prepare for a test or interview.

Excellent Service by amazon and book review.
I ordered this book on 12th April, midnight and it was delivered to me on 13th April, noon. Now that was a quick free delivery.I received the 2015 edition and I believe that it was a good steal at Rs. 410.The cover pic shown here is the old one. The new one has the letter J (stands for Java) arm-wrestling with a man. The cover pic made me think whether i got a wrong delivery for a second there but i checked the ISBN no. and all was well. The pages of the book are totally in excellent mint condition. The service by Amazon was overall praiseworthy.About the book: The book covers all the major algorithmic and data structure modules that would be helpful for a job interview. I have gone through the first chapter and i must say that the explanations given is very good and easy to understand. i believe every CS student should have this as it has many problems and puzzles to test ourselves on what we learned. But you should not solely rely on this book for DS & Algo but this can tremendously boost your skills. If you are in your Second year of engineering then should buy it now. This is also a great book for interview prep. You should check out the sample digital version given here or at [...]
