I have this book. FANTASTIC .It's my go to book to identify OLD one if a kind pans. Great to date handles and bail posts on items.

I bought it as a gift for my mother that collects cast iron. I like that it has different brands and helps figure out the year it was made however I did not like that it didn’t tell how much each piece was worth

There is a wealth of new and excellent information regarding early cast iron hollowware written by a life long researcher. As an advanced collector (of 45 years), I found many facts that I had not uncovered through my own research and study. Problematic are the many, many descriptions that are unclearly written by the author which should have been corrected had a quality editor been assigned by the publisher to clarify these author explanations/descriptions. Otherwise, a great source book and a MUST have. JEK

Great pictures and informative information. Yet, it doesn't cover Griswold, Wagner, BSR or early Lodge thoroughly enough to be a guide to the average collector.
