Excellent Performance and Versatility
I bought this back in September of 2025, right before prices on computer hardware exploded, and was able to build a nice Linux-based computer for about $3,100 or so. I chose this CPU as I wanted a 12-Core CPU due to me wanting to use the computer not just for gaming - but also for other tasks such as video editing, server hosting, and so on where the extra cores really come in handy. It is slightly weaker for gaming than the 8 core CPU AMD offers in the same line, but that difference hardly matters in 99% of cases and in the end I got a more powerful CPU for other cases for a good deal. It has performed very well, and while it generates a fair bit of heat it's nothing that a decent $100 or $150 CPU cooler can't handle. I have a Noctua cooler for my part, a similar model to the one I used back when I built another computer all the way back in the year 2010 or so, and I suspect this will continue to serve me well for years to come.I recommend this CPU to anyone in my situation - someone who needs a powerful CPU that can handle basically any task you throw at it, including gaming and editing. It isn't perfect for any specific task but it's the ultimate jack of all trades and for the price I got it at definitely worth the money. Of course with hardware prices being what they are nowadays, make sure you shop around.

AMAZING, just think if you need this amount of power...
This is literally an amazing GPU in any way shape or form you try to see it as a consumer, the only thing is that most probably you are WAY SHOOTING BEYOND what you need. Whether you plan to use windows or linux this processor promises to work well alongside any OS, and on games it barely sweats... CPU intensive games like minecraft just work seemingly with this dark magic chip! If you disable gaming mode on UEFI (BIOS) it can generate 1000 chunks per second (which is insane considering the normal is like, 32 cps? at least on my old pc).If you want something that does not become obsolete in MANY MANY years, or plan quirky things like using the same PC as a Server (whether homelab or games) (JUST FOR DEMANDING TASK), this is a nice choice!Just ask yourself, this is really what I need? Cause if you are just using excel or basic stuff you are WAYYYY overreaching...

Make sure u buy a heat sink too
Upgraded pc, this was easy to install. Has 0 issue with cooling but I bought a great heat sink to go with it. This didn't come with a heat sink. But still worth buying. The upgrade is great

If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer).* These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly. Why I ordered this item: My AMD 5700x was having a hard time keeping up with my audio production needs. This CPU went on sale so I jumped on it.Likes:* This processor offers pretty extreme performance. Twelve full-featured cores is absolutely bonkers on a CPU that was on sale for $370.* This thing absolutely churns through Ableton. I can have 30 tracks with multiple plugins and effects on each one, and this CPU does not break 10% usage. I don't know how that is possible considering how hard the same song was on my old 5700x. It's the most powerful CPU I have ever used.* I have had no operational issues with this CPU at all. Everything on my new PC runs smoothly. Games are glassy and productivity apps are rock solid. No likes:* This CPU can get hot. I knew that going in and bought an adequate cooler. Still, it's something to consider.Would I pay full price for this product: I would pay the $370 I paid again because this processor is awesome.Final thoughts: I'm very happy with my choice on this processor. I had a lot of options and almost went with an X3D model, but I don't game much any more and I knew this would be better for audio production. One word of advice - if you are considering this CPU vs an Intel option, know that AMD processors have full-fledged cores while Intel uses Performance and Efficiency cores. Efficiency cores are not as powerful as the full featured cores AMD offers, so in multithreaded applications in general, AMD offers a more powerful experience when comparing similar core counts to Intel.

A top-notch AMD processor a ta a great discount
Great product at a great discount. One of AMD's best processors for heavy 3d modeling, rendering and video editing.Worked flawlessly with my NZXT N7 B850 motherboard.

My compile jobs went from hours to minutes and I can't go back
Honestly I didn't need this much CPU power for what I do. My workload is mostly AI inference and the heavy lifting goes to the GPUs anyway. But I picked up the 9900X and I'm not going to pretend I'm not glad I did.24 threads sounds like overkill until you actually have it. I had some compilation jobs that used to run two, sometimes three hours. They finish in minutes now. Not slightly faster — minutes. That alone was worth it for me.For AI work specifically it pairs really well with a heavy GPU setup. The CPU stays out of the way, handles everything it needs to handle quickly, and never becomes the bottleneck. Ollama, ComfyUI, running multiple things at once — it just chews through it without complaining. The AM5 platform is also just a solid foundation to build on. Memory bandwidth is good, the platform has longevity, and the 9000 series efficiency improvements over previous Ryzen generations are real and noticeable in power draw.I'm not a gamer, I'm not doing heavy video editing, and I don't run massive parallel CPU tasks day to day. By all rights this is more processor than I strictly need. But when something does demand it, like those long compile jobs, the difference is so dramatic that I can't imagine going back. If you're building a serious workstation and you're on the fence about stepping up to the 9900X, just do it. You'll find reasons to appreciate it.

A beast of a processor
It's a beast. AMD's generated 5600G series themselves are still not entirely irrelevant till now. So with its 12 cores, 24 threads, I hope it will remain relevant for next 6-8 years easily. And forget about being stressed, everything for it looks to be just a walk in the park with utilisation barely going beyond 10% during gaming of modern FPS and racing tiltles of 2020s, even if we consider maximum load on the GPU.It does not come with a bundled cooler, but right so. With its all those fire powers, an aftermarket Good quality liquid cooler is a must in my view.Temperature remains around 46 to 55 degrees at idle to near idle state and it gets heated up quickly to 70-75 degrees even when utilisation just increase to 10%-12% momentarily, before the cooler kicks in.As all we know, price is not a VFM these days with AI demand disrupting hardware pricing driving nuts...

It runs Minecraft and muck well
I had an Intel core i7 14700kf but 14th gen intel is very unstable and crashes with everything so I switched to AMD it runs all games and programs well and it’s good for streaming but I do wish it had more cores for a Ryzen 9 when the Intel Core i5-14600K which is basically the lowest end cpu intel has from that gen (no one would buy an i3) has more cores but it’s easy to cool if you have an AIO and it’s powerful.
