Overall a Fun Toy
This excavator toy is very neat, I would have loved to have this when I was a kid--hopefully my son will love it when he's old enough to use it! Here's a short pros and cons list:Pros:1) It looks great and the build quality seems good.2) It has good movement--forward, backward, turns on one joystick, and the top portion spins left & right as well as operation of the arm with the other joystick. I was able to get the thing to drive on top of a decent sized book by using the bucket to push itself up.3) It just works pretty much as you'd expect it to!Cons:1) The biggest con for me personally is that the arm and bucket controls are not independent. I was hoping I could move the arm and buckets individually like a real excavator, but this does not work like that. The arm has two predefined motions that it will run through if you hold the joystick either left or right. One is the "digging" motion where the whole arm goes up, out, and scoops. The other is a "pushing" motion where it basically just does the same thing in reverse.2) It's pretty loud! It's not terrible, especially outdoors, but inside it is definitely noticeable. It is not a toy to use when someone is trying to take a nap, that's for sure.3) This one is a very small complaint that is barely worth mentioning, but still I will. It comes with the option to have sounds play, like engine noises or the arm moving noises... They are some of the worst sounds I have heard from a toy. I don't know if it's just the speaker that is bad quality, or the sounds themselves. But I just leave the sounds off, and I assume everyone else will too.All-in-all it's a fun toy, and I like it.

Cool excavator
Our little boys are in a "heavy machine" phase and absolutely love anything with utility trucks. This rc excavator has a lot of built in functionality. The controls are a bit complex for our littlest one, but his older brother figured it out. I make sure they don't force the "hydraulics" or gears to ensure it won't get damaged. It's really impressive of how this lille rc toy can pick up first and spins 360°. Awesome toy!

real world, learning, fun
The remote excavator is a small yet accurate representation of an actual machine. Just like the real version, the RC model requires a lot of eye hand coordination to become proficient at operating. The remote control is simple to use and intuitive in functions. The machine itself is faithful in detail and is articulate as it's big brother. An interactive toy with a full range of motion for this price is a great value. The toy model will keep a young mind occupied and help develop dexterity. I recommend purchasing for children of all ages.
