We had noticed a couple of rats in the garden which had clearly been attracted to the spillage from our bird feeders , on advice from a rodent / pest controller we removed the bird feeders and ensured the were no other obvious food sources . We ordered these two rat traps and bait which were easy to use and placed them in the areas that we had seen rat activity . The bait disappeared during the first few days and we found a couple of dead rats within a week . This product did the job quickly and surprisingly easily. We will leave the baited traps in place and check to see if the bait is touched. We are told by the rodent adviser that if there is no further rat activity observed and the bait isn't touched then its a good bet the rats are gone.

Worked a treat!

One photo on the advert shows a spring trap inside, they do not come with spring traps.Big, good quality bait boxes that work in a standard way if you have used them before. Each one has a bag of poisoned bait, When on the bar and with the lid locked shut they are safely away from dogs, cats and kids. Instructions are adequate.I am fairly sure that you could leave these out in any weather and they would be good for years.If the value is OK for you they are worth considering.

I needed two bait stations that I can put a rat trap into and I also needed more poison so that I have enough to hopefully do me until the rats , mice and shrews move out of my attic and walls next summer. I will be using the poison in two more of these bait stations in my attic which is what the spare Bait is for. I needed these bait stations for two traps in my garden.

I'm not a great fan of poison as a method of controlling rat populations but after a colony were eradicated in my garden another appeared in my neighbors. The ones in our garden had been killed with a combination of rat traps, an air rifle and 2 of the local cats.I couldn't use the gun on the rats, they were around the corner, the rats had exit holes under the boundary fence so it was difficult although not impossible to use traps.The boxes are well designed and have a steel bar that is used to hang the poison blocks, well out of casual reach.The entry hole size reduces the chance of non target species such has hedgehogs getting inside.There is an additional removable plate with a very small semi circular hole making it pretty much impossible for a hog to get in there even a hoglet. The box can additionally be placed where rats may go but hedgehogs etc not.I read up about the poison provided and I was still not keen.I had a pair of none enclosed rat traps and to my delight I found they fitted perfectly into the boxes.If the removable plate is removed a trap will fit.Now I have options.A key stops accidental entry to the box by larger animals or small people.
