Ethique Sweet Orange & Vanilla Crème Bodywash bar - Body Wash for Sensitive Skin - Plastic-Free, Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Eco-Friendly, 3.88 oz (Pack of 1)

I have sensitive skin that gets dry and scaley in winter. I had high hopes for this soap. My partner and I have used Ethique shampoo bars for years. I don't use washcloths with bar soaps and just rub the bar directly on damp skin. I was prepared for the "film" feeling of this soap similar to Cetaphil and excited to try a vegan & cruelty free alternative to Cetaphil. I was disappointed that the texture of the bar was rough. It wasn't sandpaper like bars advertised as exfoliating, but the texture was still gritty. I'm also unsure which ingredient I'm allergic to, but I ended up getting a pit rash after 3 days of use. Usually this happens when I use a baking soda based natural deodorant or extremely high PH soaps. The bar doesn't have baking soda and is advertised as PH balanced, low PH so I have no idea what caused the reaction. Maybe it works better in hard water. I have soft mountain water and it just felt kinda sticky. It has a pleasant orange vanilla ice cream bar smell. I wonder if I'll attract bees in the spring... Didn't work for me as a body wash bar. It may be perfect for someone with less sensitive skin or hard water. I wish I'd found a mini bar to try before committing to an entire large bar. I'll continue using it as a facial cleaning bar until it's gone because it only seems to bother my underarms.

It doesn't suds at all, makes my skin itchy and dry, and honestly doesn't smell of anything but wax. It's like trying to wash with a crayon

Although it said everything was vegan, plant based, eco-friendly, etc. My skin had a terrible reaction to it. When I read 'eco-friendly', I automatically assumed there wouldn't be any harmful ingredients that will irritate my skin.First use my body was oddly itchy all over. I thought maybe it was something else since my skin is usually sensitive. But after the second use, again, my body was terribly itchy throughout my entire body.The soap doesn't lather, which was surprisingly unexpected. Apart from being itchy, it didn't leave this waxy feeling like most bar soaps do. It smelled delicious. I would've given it more stars if I weren't so sensitive to a product that's supposed to be plant based/vegan/eco friendly. I love what this company stands for and I wanted to be able to support this product, but my body just refuses.

I want to like this soap. It smells super good.It’s a small square bar, and seems very greasy feeling out of the box. I purchased a small net bag to hold it so I could hang it between showers, as we do not have a “soap dish”.I first attempted to use it sort of like a bath sponge with the soap inside.It is not sudsy so I feel like I wasted about half the bar trying to get it to suds up. This is my first time with this type of product and apparently i was wrong about the suds factor. My bad.Overall , I like it. My skin does not feel dry. I feel clean and smell good, so that’s important. I don’t know how long this little very expensive bar will last ... that will be my deciding factor of whether to purchase again.

Only reason I knocked off stars was... I initially bought conditioner from this company. I love it and continue to buy it AND shampoo... their shampoo bar lathers like a dream - this soap just... melted. How can you do shampoo right, but not soap? I worried I wasn't getting my feet clean, so I tried to just rub the bar on my skin... nope. Melted faster. Not recommended. Maybe it was just this one bar. I'll keep buying their hair products but I think I can get better bar soap elsewhere.

We switch all of our products to Ethique several months ago. Everything is excellent. But what truly suprised me was how long each item is lasting, because I was concerned about the price of each bar, if they needed to be replaced often.This is not the case.Face bar 3+ monthsShampoo bar 6+ monthsConditioner bar 6+ monthsBody bar 2+ monthsMy wife and I both use these products, and they are lasting a long time, which means that my concern about affordability is no gone.

I love Ethique bars, I use them for my shampoo and my body wash. Oddly enough though this body wash bar only lasted me a fraction as long as my shampoo bar did that's the same size. Let me say though that a lot of people saying they only lasted " a week" or "Two weeks" etc MUST be using wayyyy too much. You don't need a lot with these bars, a little goes a long way. So keep that in mind.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SUDS, LOOK ELSEWHERE!This is a block of surfactants and it's wonderful! It cleans without drying my skin out and the scent is AMAZING. Just rub it all over and rinse, you may not see it, but it's there. A quick word of advice, buy a soap dish and don't use it under running water unless you want it to go away quickly. "Soap up" out of the way of the shower spray because the bar will disintegrate.

I liked the scent but I don't like the fact that it doesn't lather at all.

Smells amazing and it's moisturizing and NO plastic anywhere!
