It was OK, but didn't realise it was self assembly. Does hold cds but feel it was expensive for what it is

Best looking desktop cd rack
Well made and attractive cd storage. Easy not to realise that protective covering needs to be removed from both sides of plastic components. Really like this product, might buy another one for my expanding cd collection.

It tidied up as unsightly mess of CDs.
A bit tricky to assemble. Otherwise a good purchase.

Not consistent but decent
I bought one. Loved it. Bought a second, and it’s too tight so struggle to get CDs out. So whilst it’s a decent product, clearly there’s an issue of consistency in quality and tolerance. Still gave it a 4 star

Poor quality finish. Edges uneven and roughly cut and not finished. Cracked Perspex. No instructions

I really like this set, just bought a second one to expand storage for my collection, which is now over 60. The elements I like the most about this design are: - Most space-efficient compared to other setups like standard acrylic organizers with horizontal slots that introduce dead space in between each CD. - Aesthetics: Acrylic side panels are ingenious, allowing full cd art to display on the sides and the wood grain is very attractive - Size: not too large so that the fully loaded case becomes too heavy/unwieldy but also stores 60 which is a lot. I do have some criticisms to point out that could be looked at for improvement, though: - Some CD cases like paper ones are a really tight fit, so maybe a millimeter or two of extra vertical space would go a long way while still retaining the space-saving aspects of this design - The screws should have inset holes, drilled with a countersink drill bit to allow the acrylic sides to be completely smooth when placing these next to each other or in tight cubbies or shelving units. I am going to try replacing the screws with just this type of screw and drill some countersink holes to hide the screw heads because I need to squeeze two of these cases next to each other inside an Ikea KALLAX entertainment cube and shaving off those millimeters will allow them to fit perfectly and keep the sides of my cabinet from getting scratched by the screws. - I've added felt pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding too much on the smooth surface I have them on. It would be nice if it would come with some. - Something else that could be beneficial would be magnets in the acrylic side panels to allow 2 units to stick together when placed side-by-side. Overall I give this a 5-star rating, but if Amazon let me I would give it 4.5 just for some of these nice-to-haves, but overall I like this storage solution the best from the competition out there, which is hard to find these days for CD storage. UPDATE (April 2024): I was able to successfully mod the acrylic panels to allow the screwheads to sink under the surface. I used a countersink drill bit and purchased matching screws for the size drill bit I bought with some help from the nice folks at my local hardware store, and now my 4 racks are perfect for where I need to store them, which is inside 2 IKEA Kallax cabinet holes. The internal dimensions of a Kallax cube are 12.5" wide, 12" deep and 13.25" high, so 2 of these racks side by side with the original screws made them slightly too wide to fit flush next to each other, but countersinking these screws makes them fit perfect. I have an open kallax shelf with no inserts and it fits great there and looks beautiful. I also modded my Kallax entertainment unit to remove the internal portions of the fiberboard insert so that the doors could still attach whilst allowing the cd racks to span the entire width of the kallax cube. Overall I am very very happy with this setup, but I encourage the manufacturer to update the design to use countersink holes with flat-headed screws. I also found it annoying that everytime I pulled a cd out or pushed one back into the rack, the entire rack would slide around on the smooth surface of the cabinet, so I added some foam tape to the bottom of each one and voila, no more sliding! This could be a nice feature to add to the product too, just some simple non-skid stickers of some kind.

I took a bit of a chance this but I think it's worth it. For what it is materials wise, it's a little expensive. But there literally isn't any other CD rack on the market this compact for 30 CDs. The Atlantic wire shelves are twice as large to hold the same number of CDs. I think for the price, this SHOULD be perfect, and it's really really close. Just not quite. I think all things considered, if this is going on a small shelf or somewhere tight, this is your best option. However, the instructions don't mention peeling the protective film off the plexiglass side pieces and I GUARANTEE most people who haven't seen plexiglass would just assume the finish is terrible before returning it. You need to use a straight blade or razor blade to get under an edge and peel the fil that's on BOTH sides of every piece of plastic. It looks 1000x better after peeling. And peel before assembly or you won't be able to remove the film without difficulty. Second, the measurements are perfect for a CD case to fit flush with the front of the rack face. This is cool, BUT, if you fill the rack it's impossible to grip and remove an individual CD case. If the rack was an 1/8" or 1/4" less deep so the ends of each case protruded past the front edge of the wood shelves, you'd be able to remove an individual case easily without fumbling to push the case you need from the rear. However, this can be solved by inserting any object that's about 1/4" thick against the rear plexiglass plates as a spacer so your cases protrude far enough to grab. There isn't anything better on the market but I hope the mfr includes a spacer or shortens the shelf plates a bit in the future. This would then be a perfect product. If it was about $5-$8 cheaper it would be unbeatable.
